  1. Heh, heh ! I guess you're probably right and although I could live without watching the movie using a nomovie line, but knowing it wouldn't play at all would break my heart !!! Thanks for all the interest and help Dave and Lars ! Let's keep Flight Unlimited 3 alive as long as we can.
  2. Guys, I got the video working properly ! The color depth issue is resolved. I had installed K-lite Codec Pack as suggested earlier. I don't know what occurred to me but I turned off the Intel Indeo 5 format in the pack (via Codec Tweak Tool > Config > DirectShow Filters > LAV Video decoder (x86) > Formats tab) !
  3. Hi, I just confirmed with the install disc on another PC. The default install folder for the game is Program Files (at least with my installation disc). Do you still suggest that I move the game? Running the game in Administrator mode causes it to crash immediately. Running in Administrator mode with Win98 compatibility runs the video but the color depth is reduced !!
  4. In my case, the file is called ea_lg.avi and it is located in the genpile folder. It playes properly in Windows Media Player using the LAV video decoder. The installed location of the game is D:\Program Files\Flight 3.
  5. Guys. Ligos Indeo Codec v5.11 did not work. Any further suggestions?
  6. Thanks. I'm actually coming back pretty late from the office these days but there appears to be a ray of hope here. Maybe I'll even spend the 15 bucks on the latest codec version (I see they mention it as "not supported for Vista" which is my current OS). Anyway, I'm glad there is a potential solution, but what bothers me is why was it that the movie was working on my system before I reformatted the HD to do a fresh install of everything. And more importantly, is there a way to fix the issue within the OS and the Flight Unlimited 3 files themselves without installing a 3rd party codec? Would like everyone's opinion on that last question.
  7. I removed my config file from the folder and allowed the game to create a new one (which it did). The video still doesn't play. Reasons for wanting the movie to play?... heh, heh... how can I put it... I love the game so I want it running perfectly as long as I can. This is despite the fact that I own MS Flight Simulator X Deluxe, which is also fantastic but doesn't hold that nostalgic place in my heart... It's not just the game that's important, but the whole piece of software (not to mention the pretty box it came in)!
  8. Checked the config file again. No nomovie line. Also, the config file is my own. Tried running in XP compatibility mode but no improvement.
  9. So do I need to install the indeo codec? Please note that the video was running prior to my recovering the PC hard drive and then installing the game.
  10. Dave: No your not wasting anyone's time. Thanks for your help so far. Lars: Doesn't the game's movie use the Indeo codec? Would help if I could get some clarification on this.
  11. Hi Dave, I'm actually using my own edited file from the time we last discussed the AA issue and I don't have the "nomovie" line in that file.
  12. The intro video for Flight Unlimited 3 does not run since I reinstalled the game post formatting the HD and reinstalling everything. Could someone kindly help resolve this issue? My PC config is:- PC: HP Compaq dx7500 Microtower RAM: Corsair 4 GB Graphics card: Zotac GeForce GTS 250 ZT-20105-10P OS: Win Vista SP2 CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7600 Monitor: HP LE1851w Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional Series
  13. Thanks Dave, Let me know if you come up with a solution for that random player shadow anomaly.
