  1. I know this thread has been opened long time ago but since I'm a big fan of VR i wanted to say a few words. I've tried both versions : the DK1 with FSX and the DK2 with P3D. The DK1 (shown in the first video) had, indeed, a very low quality. You could almost count the pixels on the screen. But the feeling you had was wonderful. The first time I flew through a cloud was indeed a WOOOOOW moment. The freedom, the looking around with your body instead of joystick feeling is just great. The DK2 comes with a higher resolution, with the 6 degree movement thanks to the camera and it's even better than the first one. The fact that you can lean forward to see the cockpit or the runway ads a lot to the realism. But, here comes the but: so far I found no integration for DK2 and FSX. I talked to one guy who developed some functionality for Prepar 3D, still in testing, but working great. For FSX seems to be much more complicated. Only time will tell if it will ever be integrated in FSX or P3D is indeed the future ... Anyway, as a conclusion: it's very promissing Imho the feeling you have using the Rift can not be compared to 2-3-4-5 or whatever monitors you have And after a while you will not miss the panels you have. I always loved flying low and slow and using turbo props. For this the Rift is just wonderful
  2. Has anyone tried to reinstall the FSUIPC? I had this problem before and I think (unfortunatelly I'm not sure) that installing the latest version might help. I also found this site: http://#####.wordpress.com/fsx-software-and-hardware-guide/ saying: "Pete Dawson, a maker of FSUIPC utility for FSX, has implemented a g3d.dll crash fix into his product. The fix that is implemented covers one of the crashes only – it is NOT all miracle g3d.dll crash fix. You should install (and actually buy) the latest module from his website." I will try to do it again at home, but I can not reproduce the problem, it's still random for me. Haven't found one region where it crashes all the time.
