    🤐🤐

Knowing @Steve Dra, he is likely working on more than 800 liveries.  Possibly 900, but that would be his MAX - at which point he'd work on no more than 7-10.  🧐

There's little chance he'd catch a 'Bus to go anywhere, so for the time Boeing, we're happy to have him around.

All in good fun, @Steve Dra.  Glad to know "YA".

    😉

  2. @Steve Dra

"starting at a screen for hours on a detailed paint is NOT the prescription I brought home from the Dr.'s office. 🤣"

You need a new Doctor.  The orthopaedic surgeon that put my left knee back together in 2004 wrote a prescription that read:  "Dear Delta - Pt requires business class only".

It didn't work all that well.  🙂

Hope you get to feeling better soon.

  3. @SteveDra,

Not exactly.  I painted the LDS 767-300 in the LTU scheme about 300 years ago, with a LOT of help from you.  Fond memories.  🙂

I had the pleasure of working with LTU back in February of 2004, auditing them for IATP (International Airlines' Technical Pool) at both their Düsseldorf and Munich bases.  A great group of folks, very laid-back and relaxed - but still very German.  They were known as "Germany's other Airline", and judging by their famous travel poster, you can see why. 😉

    Great shots and paint!
LoL....when I saw LTU in the title I was NOT expecting this paint. 🙂  I didn't even recall seeing this paint before...if so while researching LTU, only in passing.

Hope you get to the other LTU paint in the future. 🙂

@psbrandenburg would approve, right Scott?  If my brain serves me right....didn't you paint the LDS 767 in LTU decades ago with a little help from me?  😉

LOL....yeah I remember painting Andrew Air for you!  He's got to at least be in college now? Has it been that many years?

As for the Lutfy 747s...not many can claim to have 747s named after them. 🙂   I felt obligated to paint it for you.

And you forgot this one...that you know I painted for you. 😉  (Also helps that I love this livery) 😂

Ahh yes, the Red Baron.  Another fine piece of nostalgia.

The boy will be a senior at KSU at the end of this term, and has already taken the GRE.  So actually it's been more than that many years.  Little brother is a freshman in high school.  So yeah, I'm old.

I never got into the painting hobby to make money

Is that your subtle way of reminding me that I owe you a dollar each for the D-ABYA, D-ABTB, and "Andrew Air" 727 repaints?  I'd say that I'd buy you a Starbucks or something to make up for it, but that's like $11 and would violate your non-profit status.  🙂

  6. I feel like the kid stuck inside waiting for piano lessons while all my friends are outside playing "let's make fun of the kid waiting for piano lessons".  I was performing a complete un/re-install of MSFS and now I can't get it to re-install.  I've spent hours on forums, videos, pounding my head against a table, and piano lessons trying to get the bloody thing to install, all to no avail.

So for now, y'all enjoy the sim.

When you look at the other pilot's with "twins" in the vblog world (310pilot, baron pilot, etc)....its both easy and sad to see that, anyone being honest knows about 80% of their hits to their vids and channels come directly from the "twins" that have nothing to do with aviation.
Steveo just wants to "fly" a cool "twin"....however you want to take that. 😉

Watch the 1st 40 secs of these clips and tell me I'm wrong: (and ESPECIALLY the last 30 secs of the 2nd one, and AT 30 secs of the 2nd one....in that clip...you'll get to see how rough the runway surface is based on the "bounce factor")😆

Now before you label me an only fuddyduddy and say "How can you NOT like these excellent aviation vids?"  I do like them as much as the next red-blooded American Het man, and they do actually have good and interesting aviation content....but EVERYONE is there for the "Twins"....you take your pick to which "Set" you're there MORE for. 🤣

Steve - these just prove that no pilot worth their salt would fly without..ample..aux tanks..  Or at least good, reliable turbulence / icing detectors..

  8. "I wouldn't download if it was freeware".  Three words:  "OK, then don't".

For the rest of us, having recently been in Salzburg, I look forward to some low and slow flying in the region while listening to some music from the town's favorite son.  Or some Zeppelin (the lads from England, not Friedrichshafen).

For those interested, LOWS to EDDM is a nice little hop, swinging by Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein on the way up.

I just thought of the ultimate revenge for this "bounce" app and its "Company".   Remember the movie Trading Places with Eddy Murphy and Dan Akaroid?   I would love for them to get so big for their britches that they decide to go public and do an IPO...then someone....using a special version of their own software built for the stock market, does what the characters in the movie did. 🙂

In fact...I'd even pay in on the wager that the villains in the movie made just to see the expression on their faces when they realized they've been scammed, by their own software...."One Dollar" 🤣

I'd love to help you Steve, but I ain't seen nothin' since I stepped on that land mine in Viet Cong back in '72..

    "stand-alone CF6-80 expansion"

Pretty sure they mean you just get the engines.  No airframe, no wing.  Just the engines.  In a crate.  Would probably work better that way..

  11. OK Steve, I get the impression you're not a CS fan?  But how about that L1011 they released for P3D?  Huh?  Beauty, that one.  I've flown paper airplanes with better systems modeling and aerodynamics...  😉

Their version of the beloved TriTanic was the reason I sit back and enjoy the show whenever they release new generation "stuff".  After turning wrenches on the real thing for years, I was baffled that such an advanced and experienced sim publisher couldn't properly code engine starts.  And I know of no L1011 anywhere that has a touchdown speed at full flap setting of 78 knots.  No stall warning, just a float.  Definitely "as surreal as it gets".

OK, my popcorn is finished.  On with the show..

Was looking at the DC4 after I got the email from JustFlight about the sale on it.  Your DC-4 paints are making it hard for me to resist it....but OMG I have so many planes I've bought and have not even flown yet.  Need to promise to at least fly them before I get a new one (bet nobody reading this has the same issue, LOL)

Nope, it's only you.  You're a freak of nature.  Of course when I read the subject line I thought "OOOH - somebody released a C130J "Fat Albert" - gotta have!"  (Yes, they're finally getting a "J")

  13. The Right Honorable Steve Drabek strikes again.  For being retired, he sure is a busy one.

Took his latest, a wonderful LTU A330-300, up for a quick hop at sunset.  No prizes for guessing the airport.

Nicely done, Steve, very nicely done.

I'll be the judge of that Dave!😉

(Of course I did say you may be flying her this weekend...if the real world doesn't get in the way)

I started on the fuse....but a lot still to to do....

    1XKX4p.jpg

....but I think I have the tail textures aligned and ready for final touches...

    dn1OV1.jpg

And this one surely needed to be done (And I have a "few" LH paints under my belt, LOL)

    9oYFfo.jpg

I don't think it will be too long before all the repainters start to get busy on her....sooooo many liveries for this one (even if some will be fictional for the time being)

Nicely done, as always.  Retiring from painting must be like trying to leave the mob..  "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.."  - Steve "Corleone" Drabek..

  15. Herr Drabek's marvelous take on the Lufthansa 747-8i D-ABYA, "Brandenburg".  I'm partial to this one..

    Iofqoq.jpg

This image shows her departing Nairobi, Kenya.  On 11/20/1974, D-ABYB, "Hessen", a 747-130, crashed here on departure to Johannesburg.  For that reason, there will not be another D-ABYB.

    Great work, as usual, Steve!

Thanks guys....packing her up for release.  Not sure if I'll do the new Lufthansa colors...they changed my favorite livery of all time after all. 🙄

Lol Scott.  If I had a good photo of your mug you know you'd be in the pilot's seat.

Will send you an advanced copy to check out while I get her ready for release.  Check your PM soon.

There is no such thing as a good photo of my mug.  Just throw Manfred von Richtofen in there and we'll be good..  😉
