  1. Okay guys, looks like I found it. You have to set SSAA on 4x instead of 8x. This give me a huge fps boost from around 15 to 24 fps in my test scenario (Aerosoft Mega Airport BER Landing). Also you can should set your clouds on Medium, I can't see almost any difference between ULTRA and Medium and 4x vs 8x SSAA. It's way better to fly with 4x SSAA instead of using 8x MSAA! 2x SSAA gives almost nothing more fps, but a huge loss of quality... If you need more fps in urban areas like KLAX or KJFK it's best to lower your autogen from Dense to Normal. That give you the hugest upgrade in FPS next. If your FPS drop down at Approach in foggy weather, just set the clouds on Low. Cloud Resolutions on max. in REX. Volumetric fog OFF!
  2. 1. Yeah that's a good question, probably just to generate more money. Updates from a product give you more sells. You see it works, a lot of guys in the Prepar3D cheering up for v2.3 but they have no clue. Compared to FSX is 2.2 the only version who gives you the same fps with FSX + DX10 Fixer. 2.1 and 2.0 was ###### compared to FSX... 2.3 ###### everything without tweaks and tricks atm. 2. I don't know, I've saved the 2.2 Installer on my hard drive I stick to 2.3 now and try to figure out if I can tweak it to get the same fps as in 2.2 and let you guys now.
  3. You should try 2.2 The performance there was much better I think...
  4. Really? Nobody have this issue???!! Problem still exists for me in 2.3 after fresh install!
  5. Same problem here. The clouds give me a major FPS impact. It has nothing to do with REX, since I don't have it installed. Even on medium clouds it gives me a huge impact. Never had those problems in 2.2 BTW, in general I can't see any improvements in 2.3 besides the new water, but with REX it looks like that in 2.2 as well... The Antialiasing is still the same as well like in 2.2. The 2D Panel bug is still there... 2D Panel scaled to screen size = 18 fps or less... 2D Panel reduced a brick under the red info line in the left corner = 30 fps locked. This is ###### and makes no sense. I don't get it why they don't fix this stupid bug...
  6. Ah okay, that explains it. Thanks for the information! I tried out Prepar3D today. Right now it looks amazing, let's see what is my next sim in the future :D
  7. Hi guys, now I switched as well from FSX to Prepar3D 2.2 and im very happy in general. I'm using ORBX Global + Vector with FS Global 2010 and I have mostly around 30 fps even in Los Angeles and New York etc. Almost everything is on max. now, after some tweaks in the Prepar3D.cfg My system is: Core i5-2500K OC on 4,3 GHZ AMD Radeon HD 7950 OC Boost 8 GB DDR3-Ram Windows 8.1 x64 But there is still one thing what I don't get and I hope someone has an idea. I fly mostly with custom aircrafts from sources like avsim, flightsim.com etc. and everything works fine, the fps too. But, most of the airplanes have only 2D panels and I figured out these 2D panels alltogether get the frames dropped to like 15 or 13 fps :( But only when they're full scaled to the max of your screen! As soon as you reduce the size from above around 2-3 cm the frames are back on 30 fps locked. I just don't get it why it's on every 2D Panel the same. It is on every panel the exact same pixel area. It's regardless if you reduce the size of the 2D panel from above around 5 cm or even 10 cm, there is no FPS boost anymore. It's only this one pixel that makes the change from 13 to 30 fps :p I hope someone here have a fix for that, if you even noticed it... Or an explanation why this only happens when the panel is full scaled. Greets Nytro
  8. Hi guys, I tried to used the DX10 Fixer as well, and the graphics looks in general very awesome, with better FPS! But the problem is, I have flickerung and flashing from textures. The problem is only under DX10 Preview. Under DX9 everything is fine. I uploaded a video on Youtube that you can see how it looks like: I hope someone knows what can causes the issue. I installed first the shader_release_v3.2.2 package from AVSIM, with the water textures. Then I used the DX Controller 2.3 Scenery Fixer Tool and installed the libraries. What I tried already: - Uninstalled libraries in DX10 Configurator, problem still the same. - Disabled RadeonPro AA and SSAA Configs, problem still there. - Problem is around the whole world, even in the middle of the ocean! My FSX configuration: FSX SP2, ORBX Global + Vector, Rex 4.0 Weather, FS Global 2010 and in this video Flytampa Dubai Reloaded. My system: Core i5-2500K @ 4,3 GHZ (stable), AMD Radeon HD7950 OC Boost (stock clock), 8 GB DDR3-1333, Windows 8.1 x64 Greets Nytro
