Log in to your account at UK2000.  The updated installers should be available for download.  This is what I did after v3 was released.

Bojote's tweaking tool page no longer comes up.  Several entries on the internet confirm this.  If wanting to know how to set up your config in FSX, there are several threads here at AVSIm which can aid you and probably better than the tool you seek.

I have also found this to be rather reliable for those who need to configure their FSX:  http://sx-ako.gr/Downloads/FSX%20Tweaks%20revision1.pdf
  3. Jimm's post in How to replace DVD reader/writer optical drive? was marked as the answer
Keep the screws, in case you don't get any with the new drive.  Keep in mind that these days, hardware has default designs for installation.  For instance, 3 1/2" HDD have screws that set in place into the hard drive cages in desktops.  Some desktops have rails, but the hole placements are the same.  For DVD & CD drives, the same applies.  I tend to keep screws from anything I disassemble or replace because you never know if you are going to need them.  When you replace this drive, you will realize really fast how easy it is.

Btw, you can always go the quicker way and buy a USB powered drive and the beauty of that is that it can be disconnected and reconnected at any time.  I have one for my laptop, as my laptop didn't come with one.  Once you hook it up, Windows recognizes it instantly and you're good to go.

Then you will need to download the correct version from where ever you bought the software.  I can guarantee that the new update does install fine so it appears you have an older version you are trying to install.

One thing I noticed off the bat is Bufferpools and Affinity Mask...ditch'em, you don't need them.  In fact, that Affinity Mask setting is probably what's killing your VAS and probably framerates as well.  There is a recent discussion here at AVSIM about Affinity Mask=14, which appears to be an automated setting with the add-on Manager for FSDT (and Flightbeam).  I would go into that manager and disable that setting.  Try that and see if your performance increases before going on a witch hunt to disable or tweak further.

  6. Jimm's post in logo light not lighting up was marked as the answer
Another option is to go into Steve's DX10 Fixer program and look for anything that may override lighting.  Perhaps you checked/ticked an option that messes with the way the lights are displayed.  If this is the case, I highly recommend reading the manual that accompanies the fixer, as the settings can be misleading if not understood correctly.

Lastpass works very well (been using it for months now), integrated with your browser, allows auto-login and it's free.
