Prepar3D Folder
Got it! Thanks for clearing that up. I understand that Prepar3d has to be all on its own with nothing else in the folder is this correct?. Still finding my way around flight Sims. Great Fun! Cheers Mike

Prepar3D Folder
Then why is the Prepar3d option button in there below the Airbus installation button? When it says on the box it is compatible with Prepar I was surprised to see an install button for it.

Prepar3D Folder
Interesting points here about folders. I dragged prepar3d out of 86 into programme files it didn't seem to make any difference so will put it back into 86. Have any of you installed Prepar3d from the Airbus x extended disc? It asked for Microsoft simulator in the 86 folder but it couldn't find it even though I gave it the path location. Cheers Mike

Prepar3D Folder
Hi mazelda. I dragged the prepar3d folder across to programme files from 86. Probably not the correct way to do it. Though I could re install it. I am running Win 8.1 64bt with 1.8 TB HD And 8GB Ram. From what you say it sounds like its best to install every thing anywhere but programme files. Which I could do. Apart from the occasional programme crash it seems to work ok. I did wonder if moving it all out of 86 would be beneficial what would you think? Its the old saying if it aint broke then don't fix it. Hi Johnman Computer specs as above. It seems to run ok unless I am missing something. There does seem to be a lot of opinions as to default folder locations as set by the software supplier. Re my first post Airbus prepar3d could not find Microsoft flight sim folder. Also Airbus x the rotating altitude, HDG, and speed switches don't work on the main panel though active do not adjust display. Thanks to you both for your responses.

Prepar3D Folder
Hi Pete. I have moved Prepar3d out of 86 to programme files, but all the rest FSX, pmdg, and all add on's etc. have installed themselves in Microsoft games in the 86 folder. Do these all need to be moved into programme files? To be honest I just accepted were they were installing themselves from the disks without taking to much notice. I have checked Microsoft Flight Simulator X (86) folder. And they all seem to be in there. Would most appreciate your advice. Many thanks Mike

Prepar3D Folder
Hi Pete. It says on the box compatible with Prepar3d. I was surprised when the installation disk gives the option to install it. I thought it was a separate add on which I could buy. Now I know. I will have a sort out. Many thanks for your advice guys. One more question would FSX and or Airbus extended X be able to find the folder Prepar3d, or does it need to be tweaked some way. Sorry guys I'm new to this. Cheers Mike

Prepar3D Folder
The programme has installed itself in a separate folder in programme 86 files. Is this correct? or should it be in the FSX Folder. Also I have installed Airbus X Extended with Prepar3d included it could not find Microsoft simulator even though I selected and OK'd the folder for it. Many thanks Mike

FSX Gold Taxiing Stop Start Jerky
Have replaced the Black widow with a Thrustmaster controller now working perfectly very smooth no jerking. problem solved.

Prepar3D Question
I thought Prepar3d was a separate programme as with some others, I didn't think it ran through FSX as with all the other add ons. Now I know. Oh well we live and learn. The graphics quality I have now is, what can I say, WOW! Mega impressive. I have got a lot of learning to do. A good pilot never blames his plane. Just bought Heathrow Gatwick scenery. And a new controller. Have to deliver a 737 to Gatwick this morning using the GPS. See you later.

FSX Gold Taxiing Stop Start Jerky
Yes it is similar to your example mine is the Black Widow it shows in the test that all parameter's are working ok. I have tried moving axis bars around but makes no difference. Disconnection the joy stick and using key pad FSX Works ok without jerks. So maybe problem with the controller. I have Emailed them now waiting for a response. Thanks for your help and time.

Prepar3D Question
Thanks Robert, but not being sure that's why I asked the question here. Thanks n4gix for explaining that, what may seem obvious to the experts is not so for everyone. Your help most appreciated. At least its cleared that one up for me.

Prepar3D Question
So as I understand it Lockheed Martin Prepar 3D is a separate programme which I could buy. Just checked on Amazon it only mentions it within other programs FSX. Rex Essentials which I already have. Rex essentials click the fly now icon it just keeps reloading the graphics, is this right or is there something else I need to do?

Prepar3D Question
I have bought Wilco Airbus Evolution which includes Prepar 3D. (Don't know what version it is) Reading through the manual it shows what looks to be its own programme menu's. Can it work on its own as a separate programme or only through FSX?. As all the files are there but no icon to open it separately.

FSX Gold Taxiing Stop Start Jerky
I have just tried using the key board only with the joy stick controller disconnected and it works fine. So it seems to be the controller. I have tested the joystick parameter's in its properties and all the movements are showing as working OK. I have also unchecked turn off power to USB Connecter. Could be faulty controller. or as you say calibration if so can you tell me how would I do this? Or can you recommend a good controller?

FSX Gold Taxiing Stop Start Jerky
Thanks for your response. No, the screen name is all I could think of at the time.. Seems to be with most aircraft Jets, twin props and the Cessna 172 taxi lesson. Using a black widow joy stick and throttle assembly, on release brakes increase throttle only slightly the air craft starts to move smooth and slowly then stops and starts, slightly more throttle makes it worse, same using key board. The A320 wont taxi smooth for take off along the runway, it stops and starts. Very difficult when it gets to V1 Rotate. One second on the ground at 20 knts then at 500ft next second.

FSX Gold Taxiing Stop Start Jerky
Hi guys. Problem with taxi and take off. Very jerky stop starting. On take off e.g. shoots from 20 knots to 160knots in one go. Though flying sequences seem OK without jerks. Also some jagged edges. Looks as if my computer is not powerful enough. Though it does seem to be within the recommended software specs. I bought the computer last year a Dell workstation. XPS WIN 8.1. 3.40 GHZ. 8 Gigs RAM. NVidia GeForce GT640.0. Intel core i7. 1.8 TB HD. I Have tried tweaking FSX as per suggestions on the forum but this makes no difference. Would welcome your expert advice guys. Many thanks. Mike

Hello all. From new member.
Hi Guys. At last that 5 days wait seemed like years. I am new and very enthusiastic about flight simulation. I have had a good look around the forum and some great advice here. I bought 5 programmes last week and have questions which I hope you can help with. Will post in the appropriate forums, most of which could be due to user pilot error. Looking forward to meeting you and your advice guys. Regards (Fullthrottle) Mike.
