  1. Hello everybody, I am surprised that nobody talks about monitor pixel reponse time, which is an important point if you want to avoid ghosting effect especially with fast moving objects (typically when panning around, TrackIR etc.). 4k TVs, as a lot of you guys seem to use, have horrible pixel response times (15 to 20 ms !). Yet your videos seem smooth !! I have a 4k monitor with 5 ms pixel response time (Wasabi Mango UHD400), but it seems (although difficult to compare with youtube captures) to have more motion blur than what you describe... Am I doing something wrong ? Is the pixel response rate not so important after all ? I might be not yet used to have such a big screen close to my eyes... I run 30 FPS easy with a GTX 1080, Intel 6700k CPU, native 30 Hz refresh rate and HDMI connection. Any idea would be welcomed !
  2. Hello everybody, I just got this 4k monitor and wanted to know if anybody had experience with P3D v3.4 on that panel. First impressions are good : some ghosting on fast games (NBA2k17, PES2017), but nothing too bad. I can say that it's a good device for a relatively low price. I have however some issue with P3D, especially when panning around (with and without TrackIR). 4k image is very crisp and smooth with 30Hz (native on that monitor) and 30 FPS when looking in one direction, but there is definitively a motion blur when panning around even if FPS stays at 30. It is not that bad, but I was wondering if there was some trick to fix that. Thank you, JF.
  3. Hi and thank you everybody for this very instructive thread. Following David McClean and Rob's advice, I'd like to purchase à 30 Hz capable screen. But it seems that modern monitors won't allow such a low refresh rate, and I should buy a TV instead. Now here is my problem : I'd like to improve my resolution and go for 4k, but the smallest 4k TV screen seem to be 50'' or so. Having my PC in a small room and distance to the screen about 80 cm, I think 50'' is too big... What would you recommend : stay at full HD res or accept a screen "too big". Or do you know some trick to get 30 Hz on a 28'' 4k monitor ? Thank you very much.
  4. The slider does the same as in your video. Actually, I figured out the lag was not only on the flight commands (either Saitek Yoke or Logitech Wingman), but also on the TrackIR5 : there is the same delay beween the moment I rotate my head and the moment the screen moves. So it must be the processing between the hardware and the sim that lags, possible due to CPU or GPU overload. I'll try different settings and we'll see. Thank you anyway for your help! JF.
  5. Hi Mark and thank you very much for your quick answer and your very interesting video. Unfortunately it doesn't help me because I already have the sensitivity slider full right. What is curious, is that there is no lag in the P3D calibration panel itself. So it must be something in the flight model or so that bothers. Here's how it looks like: https://www.dropbox.com/s/k07eso46apcrtyq/Prepar3D%2001.01.2017%20-%2010.15.08.04.mp4?dl=0 Thanks a lot for the help. JF.
  6. Hello everybody, Can anyone fix this very annoying lag with Saitek Yoke and Rudders in P3D ? It is not there in the control panel, so there must be a problem inside P3D. See my video : https://www.dropbox.com/s/28wkj8q68rrmp0t/Prepar3D%2012.31.2016%20-%2017.15.45.04.avi?dl=0 I have P3D 3.4 and Saitek drivers are updated. Thank you very much ! Jf.
  7. Awesome ! Thank you I appreciate...
  8. Hello, Has anybody an idea how to fix this contrail flickering problem ? Framerate and everything else working fine. https://www.dropbox.com/s/pp3f88y5b3yi6y0/Lockheed%20Martin%C2%AE%20Prepar3D%C2%AE%20v3%2005.11.2016%2018_10_10.mp4?dl=0 I'm running P3D v3.4 with Nvidia GTX 690. Addons : ORBX OpenLC Europe, RFSceneryBuilding Geneva 2015, Active Sky 2016 and EZDOK. My settings: https://www.dropbox.com/s/pxv7t2s7py7xb7s/P3D%20settings.png?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/cx9zd1oy2cdvpmc/NVI%20settings.png?dl=0 (although I don't know if NVI is useful for P3D) Thank you in advance ! JF
  9. Hello, I am running FSX with UT2 and Pro ATC X. As Pro ATC controls my flight, UT2 AI flights are controlled by default FSX ATC. Is there a way/software that would do it integrally? Thank you, JFV.
