  1. While flying the Flight1 B200 King Air G1000, or the G1000 Cessna 172, I can no longer enlarge the MFDs. When you click on an MFD, it should pop up in an enlarged form for easy viewing. Now, the MFD on the panel simply goes black and the enlarged MFD does not open. I think it has something to do with pop ups in my windows 10 settings. But I cannot seem to find what it is. Can anyone give me some advice on this problem.
  2. I am not aware of the ftx central insertion point option. I will have to look at tha
  3. That's my plan, but I still do not understand why I just can't put Open_LC NA below the regions in the scenery library. The regions should then override the Open_LC files. But something that I cannot explain happens and my frame rates crash. Bill
  4. J van E With all of the ORBX north america regions and most of the ORBX north american airports installed, I get about 24 frames/sec when taking off from KSFO or KLAX. I keep my graphics sliders mostly to the right, and I use three monitors, each with a dynamic display. When I install ORBX OpenLC NA after I install the ORBX regions (FTX_SC, FTX_NC, FTX_PNW, FTX_SAK, etc.) my frame rates are cut in half. Frame rates go down to around 10 FPS using the same aircraft at the same airport with everything else set the same. I then uninstall P3D, EVERYTHING, and start over. I reinstall P3D, all of my aircraft, and all of the regions and airports that I own. My frame rates go back up to 24 FPS at KLAX and KSFO. I should add that once I get out of the dense cityscape area, my frame rates zoom to the 30s and 40s. I can't explain the drop in frame rates, I just know it happens. Now, of course, I know that I am not losing anything without ORBX Open_LC NA as long as I stay in the regions. Note: I tried to turn off Open_LC NA in the scenery library after I saw the dramatic loss of FPS, and that did not help.
  5. Okay, thank you all for the replies. It is as I suspected. The reason for two copies would be so that I could have one version with the ORBX regions installed for flying in the west coast and Alaska. Then one version with ORBX OpenLC NA for flying in the rest of the country. I tried using the ORBX regions along with OpenLC NA, and that does not work. Bill
  6. Can I install p3d on two different drives on the same system. One install on a hard drive, and one install on an SSD. That way, I can have one install with all of the ORBX regions, and one install with just OpenLC NA. Bill
  7. How does one open the control unit for the carenado g1000. I've tried shift and control everything. Nothing opens the control unit. I cannot enter data for my flight plan, I cannot even set the autopilot vertical speed. I've tried using the mouse wheel and keyboard with no luck. How do you enter a flight plan or set the autopilot functions without a control unit.
  8. I am running one monitor at 1920x1200 and two monitors at 1600x1200. I will try to run at a lower resolution and see what happens. I can't run with just one monitor, there is no realism to that. I did state that I am using the C172 as a baseline. Shadows and reflections are off. If the 1070 can't run three monitors, then what will? Will going to a haswell processor and motherboard help versus the sandybridge. My bus speed is 100, maybe I should increase the motherboard bus speed and lower the cpu multiplier.
  9. Yes, I have turned off antialiasing. It helps. But still I can't get up above 19 fps in high density city areas. I know the three monitors are a huge resource hog, but I was hoping that a 64 bit application with 8G of Vram and 8G of RAM would be good enough to stay above 24. That's my goal, 24fps.
  10. Thank you for the reply. I have flown for about an hour in the Seattle area and the frame rates do not improve much until I leave the heavily populated area. It increases, but not much. I stay below the 19 FPS threshold.
  11. x plane 11, world objects, texture quality, visual effects all set to HIGH, reflections off, antialiasing lowest setting, number of models 2 or 3, visibility 40 miles, no clouds, Seattle, cessna 172, I7 2700 overclocked to 5ghz, Nvidia GTX 1070 with 8G VRAM overclocked, 8G RAM, Nvidia parameters set to use the 3d application, power management mode prefer maximum performance, threaded optimization OFF, 3 monitors all set to full screen simulator and default monitor resolution, Windows 10 64 bit, I'm getting a paltry 16 to 18 FPS. I can get good frame rates with only one monitor enabled. I must be missing something. I have spent about 2 hours searching posts. No magic bullets. Surely frame rates should be at least above the minimum 19 with my hardware. What is it??? Or does xplane 11 really only work with one monitor?
