  1. Opened the operations center and there an update for the 777 to fix the bugged autobrake knob, however, when I attempted to install the update, it is asking me to re-download the entire installer once again. Is there another installer improvement not listed in the changelog?-- (because it seems excessive to re-download an entire installed just to fix the autobrake switch) OR am I wrongly assuming that the 777 is ready for micro updates? If it's the latter, can somebody clarify if as of today, only the 747 is micro update compatible?
  2. I am having this issue as well and it is not just some random lag spikes but continuous lag fluctuations when panning using the middle mouse button. It is especially worse when you have the camera tab open on chaseplane. Good to know I'm not the only one having this issue. I was about to do some driver troubleshooting.
  3. [UPDATE] After rougly 2-hours of troubleshooting, the fix was actually simple. When I went to https://slimdx.org/ to download the standalone runtime installer I downloaded the 64-bit version because my OS is 64-bit, that's what I was thinking but apparently because chaseplane is 32-bit you have to download the 32-bit runtime installer instead of the 64-bit. That fixed it. [case closed]
  4. After a recent windows update, Chaseplane no longer opens, I have fired up the sim and all my usual add-ons and it seems like only chaseplane was affected by my recent windows update. The log indicates Could not load file or assembly 'SlimDX.dll' or one of its dependencies. The specified module could not be found Troubleshooting I have done so far: I have uninstalled and re-installed chaseplane, nothing I have uninstalled both chaseplane and vfx-central and then re-installed both, still nothing. I have attempted to manually install the slimdx runtime by downloading the standalone installer (from https://slimdx.org/) and halfway through the installation it throws an error "an account already exists" And oh, A little more detail, The initial crash prompt says the usual "it looks like something unexpected occured.........A log file.......Please send it to *****@******.com......." after that a second prompt says "To prevent you from being stuck in an infinite loop of death, we reverted Chaseplane back to the stable channel, To enable Alpha 1.5 again, toggle Experimental Versions in preferences." the failsafe precaution is appreciated but it doesn't work and is pointless because I can't toggle experimental versions because chaseplane would not even generate its window and open at all, I am stuck inside this infinite loop of death that it tries to prevent. I have already forwarded the log and sent an email to the support channel but I'm hoping to get faster answers here.
  5. Well IF... "today" is really the release, we need to consider timezone folks. Is this today based on PMDG Headquarters timezone? UK only has 4 hours to go before "tomorrow" and for me (Asia) it's been long "tomorrow" since the initial tease
  6. FS2Crew has a current version for the 747v2 and they are pulling it out of the stores because the 747v3 release "..could be soon based on latest reports", now "soon" of course could mean months to go but still... hype is hype
  7. So FS2Crew just sent out a notice. I understand they are just trying to protect the customers from mistaking the current 747 FS2Crew as being compatible with the v3 but man.. That is some fuel to the hype!!.. that is some hype right there. love it
  8. wooohooooo video embargo has been lifted!! I couldn't be happier. Looking forward to Kyle's video as well
  9. Oh I know, I was just saying... people asking for such things isn't really a surprise given how detail focused PMDG is.
  10. it's the pursuit for attention to details. It's not like it's a core function of an aircraft.... uhhhhh...... PMDG has simulated the weathered cockpit look, simulated the curvature of the CRT displays, added the "PMDG Soda". PMDG has spoiled it's fans with extreme attention to detail so asking for opening windows isn't really surprising
  11. I don't think its part of a strategy at all. It is not PMDG's intent to leave some info outside of AVSIM. Whats happening is simply a result of free will. After the embargo is lifted, beta testers can post screenshots and updates on whatever platform they want. Putting in place strict restrictions on where to post what is not the way to go. "Hey beta testers, unless you post similar info on AVSIM, you can't just post on other platforms" is such an awful walled-garden mentality. but then again on the grand scheme of things, I don't think information is being left out of AVSIM at all, everything is perfectly fine as it is. Interaction on social media reaches broader audiences, spreads faster and interaction is just as fast that's why those posts seems to be more "active" but as far as actual relevant information goes nothing is left out of AVSIM, in fact more of the technical information is shared on AVSIM.
  12. Well, as Kyle said AVSIM is not the only "community". If I may I would like to point you to the direction of a facebook group called "PMDG 777 & 747v3" link: www.facebook.com/groups/pmdg777 Here on this specific AVSIM thread, so far we've only had one set of screenshots and "limited" feedback from beta testers, on that facebook page, there is a stream of new screenshots and a couple of beta testers that are very willing to answer your OOMs, VAS, FPS and all sorts of concerns. In fact, some are taking requests of what people want to see and the would be happy to oblige. Wow that's awesome! With this though, how are you doing fuel planning during your beta testing? Does PMDG provide a fueling utility? PFPX profiles?
  13. scandinavian13 are you planning on doing a 747 beta video? (when you are allowed to.) I absolutely loved that 2-hour+ video you did with the 777 beta and would love to have a similar video for the 747.
