Morning all, Updated MSFS and the latest updates for the DC-6, when flying using the VE, even with all realistic failures , engine starts etc. turned off, I was getting engine 2 over revving and not in sync with the other engines and the blue sync light stays on even if i switched it to lower revs. The engines throttle was not in sync with the other engines even though the VE was controlling the throttles. Tried uninstalling the DC-6 and reinstalling but didn't make any difference. Could it be the superchargers, I used them as per the instructions and the VE to set cruise. Also I was getting oil pressure and carb temp warnings on the EFB. Not used MSFS that much, I use the CH yoke and have removed the Mixture axis as I understand this may cause issues. Also I was wondering if the DC-6 for P3D works in V5 as I might be temped to buy it, but if there are issues with it in V5 I might leave until PMDG actual update it, which hopefully they will. Could it be a few update glitches or am I doing something wrong

Am I missing something isnt P3d V5 still in Beta?

Thanks I bought Rex, think it is more buggy than MSFS, takes some doing, but am confident Rex will work on it until they get it right as will MSFS.

I have tried various mappings and seem to have found my way around it, the only issue I have is the Aileron trim nose up and down. Using the roller there are 3 numbered buttons, 15,16,17, but when in the plane all though you can see the trim wheel very slightly moving, it does not work. When I map it to other buttons like 4 & 5 it works fine. Does anyone else find the trim wheel not working?.

Thanks all for your comments. Chock, you explained the benefit of more ram very eloquently. Well installed yesterday and with the update to MSFS, really pleased with the results, EKCH is my first add-on airport, looks great.

My thinking is for £60 it will not break the bank and more addons become available, it will not do me any harm. There is 2x 8gb Corsair 2400 Ram Ryzen optimised in my basket. Do I press check out or not?

Yes, But with 2080ti which would be the one I would like still retailing @ £1000+, I would have to wait. So you dont think an extra 16gig ram will make any difference at all?

Morning all, Hope everyone is enjoying the patch 2, I haven't had a chance to install yet. I recently built a new PC, Ryzen 3600, Nvidia 1660 Super, 16Gig Ram, etc. The performance in the sim is ok and I am on the whole really pleased as I was working to a budget. Would I see any significant improvement in the Sim if I upgraded to 32Gig Ram. Is it with spending another £60 odd quid?. Appreciate your thoughts. Chris

I have noticed the beta version of FSUIPC v7 is available that works with MSFS 2020. My understanding is to get it to work you need the Simconnect.dll from the SDK. In order to get the SDK you need to set the sim to developer mode(no idea) I only downloaded the sim from Windows App store last night so havent had much of a chance to look at it as it took all night to download the content. Could one of my learned friends from the community just outline the process for doing this. Also I opted for the basic licence, which I now regret not going for the Deluxe licence. Is the anyway you can upgrade, I dont want to have to pay another £79.99, I would be happy to pay another £20 to get the licence. Thanks in anticipation of your responses. Regards Chris

I am aware it is a DX12 issue, it will not recognise my 8gb of shared memory, so I have about 6GB of memory it will not touch. When I made LM aware of this, they didnt want to know. It is their attitude I have an issue with, 2 HF in weeks and it shows the Sim is not right as well. It works fine with the Q400 but was still getting CTD with over a gig of memory to spare.

Well I bit the bullit and bought V5, have had not enjoyed the experience at all, I run a high end laptop and has 4GB dedicated graphics and 8GB of shared and I only use the Nvidia card to run the sim, got Orbx etc installed and the add on airfields which were compatible. Have OOMS nearly every time I use it, even with the settings down. Waited for HF 1, didnt make any difference, asked LM for refund, wouldnt give one as was 17 days after purchase. P3d V5 is half baked and full of flaws, 2 HF's within weeks demonstrates this. Their attitude to someone who has supported them from V2 is really poor. Will not be buying anymore P3D.

Hi, really hope you and your families are keeping safe and well.I need some help or advice if possible.I have a gaming laptop which I have the Geforce GTX 980M dedicated to P3D & the onboard to run as default on anything else.I do not run any other graphics on it.However, the program only recognizes 3.4GB of the 4096MB dedicated memory.The 980M also has available 8GB of shared memory, I have 16GB of RAM in total which about 6gb is used. I am using Win 10 1909.Is there any way I can get P3D to increase the cache of memory as it is leading to OOM's if I run the Sim at anything other than default settings. It seems such a shame that I cannot use the shared memory to its full potential.Has anyone got any suggestions as to how I can achieve this.Many thanks and stay safe.Chris.

When I fly I have FSmovmap2 on my tablet, you get Satelite, Map or Terrain options, it also shows AI traffic, you can click on a plane and it will tell you the info. It will load your flight plan and waypoints and follow your flight. Really recommend it. At the airport, you can zoom in and see the airport positions and gate numbers, taxiways etc. as they appear in real life. As it is on my tablet and you just use a bridge from your PC, there is no noticeable drop in performance. You can download it from the playstore, not sure if available on IOS.
