C152 Standard Liveries - Is this Pink One Normal?
No, no, I get it; real men today wear pink, honor their wife's boyfriend, and are generally proud, self-declared feminists. Progressivism and all. Jokes aside, I'm on the conservative and right-wing side of things, so for me, pink remains a girly or gay color. Feel free to call me a terrible, outdated, closeted, and/or bigoted '[insert generic -ist or -phobe word here]' any time for that take.

C152 Standard Liveries - Is this Pink One Normal?
Thanks for responding. I'm wondering thy Asobo put such a "girly" livery in there. It's seemingly even being mocked in some videos. Before anyone jumps on me, no, I don't have issues with girls flying, but if I remember correctly, it's still mostly dudes simming. Irrelevant of this pink one: It would be really cool if there were some databases in general for (official AND third-party) releases of liveries for MSFS. Started searching for such databases/wikis, but the closest I found so far is https://flight.fandom.com/wiki/Cessna_152. Pretty decent but somewhat out of date and not really listing 'version histories.' If anyone knows of good a good database with detailed version history / changelog information on liveries please let me know! Blue skies! ( No, I don't watch much TikTok but this is one of the first videos I found with this livery )

C152 Standard Liveries - Is this Pink One Normal?
Hi Guys, Quick question, is this pink(ish) Livery - Textron Aviation 'Livery 1' - for the C152 in MSFS2020 an 'official' / default livery? I was modifying certain files and previously had completely 'pinked out' aircraft as a result of some texture missing. Example of this > Longitude in 3rd picture. In this case it seems like an 'official' Asobo livery though? If anyone could confirm this and ideally even post a little screenshot from their own c152 default livery selection I would appreciate that very much! Interestingly enough, 'AI' keeps telling me that this is 100% a "missing texture issue" and this is not a livery in the sim. Regards, Tommy

First impressions of MSFS 2024.
None. I'll wait 1-2 Years and see if things improve. The thin client / stream everything model is very suspicious - I gladly 'sacrifice' SSD Space if it means I can run a basic version of my sim offline when the need arises. For now I think MSFS2020 is a ( *edit ) decent Flightsim-Platform with some well polished Addon aircaft and sceneries. Asobo / Microsoft have promised continued Support for at least until 2030. Which I intend to use to it's fullest. No need for me to switch to this seemingly broken mess that ( currently ) is MSFS2024.

Need Advice on rolling chair
Really think a metal frame solution is the best way to go. Also these rubber/plastic things seem a little flimsy in the long run.

Huge Community Folder And What To Do...
That would be ironic, wouldn't it. The very hobby you got to spend more time and money on because you quit drinking driving you to the bottle again 😉. Kidding aside - lets hope that doesn't happen. Congrats on 8 plus years of sobriety. You aren't the only one trying to stay away from the stuff. Wishing you an - albeit delayed - not just half but a decent Sunday. Seeing as you wrote this around half past 3 in the morning your local time I hope you caught up on some sleep 😁.

Huge Community Folder And What To Do...
Maybe I'm stuck in the 'old ways' a little. Or simply continued to use what has worked for me well for so long. Or I was just too lazy to adopt a new method of managing my files. Am aware of continued R/W processes decreasing the overall lifespan of SSD's. As my library also constantly grows I should look at new ways of managing all the data. I think I will at least try it out after the feedback/advice here. ( Also might be that I am stuck a little in a 'frugal' mindset. Still considering SSD as 'valuable' storage space and basically only move what I really need onto it. Large Libraries of mostly unused scenery get stored on 'cheap' HDD Space. ) As you mentioned linking only makes sense when files are kept on fast disks. Ironically by now I have enough of those now anyways.

Huge Community Folder And What To Do...
Easy solution: Move to Germany - Booze is cheap as dirt here - you can be a drunk AND a scenery-and-aircraft-acquiring simmer 😉. On a more serious note: I don't get why so many people have issues with their community folders and even use things like 'library managers'. I manually move Scenery, Aircraft and Other files when not needed ( or the community folder gets 'stuffed' ) from SSD to other Backup SSD's or HDD's. Requires that you somewhat keep track of the file names - maybe just created a text file where you log what you move when and where. ( Or do it in your head ) Been doing this for years and never had an issue. Keep your community folder lean and mean. Also - some specific addons can lead to issues - doesn't matter if you have hundreds of smooth running ones - 1 problematic might ruin the whole thing. Recommend you check recently installed ones and remove some and try running again.

Need Advice on rolling chair
I use this as part of my ( entry-level ) sim-racing rig: rock-solid with a office chair on wheels: ( Part of this setup: ) > ' Next Level Racing Wheel Stand 2.0 ' I am a tall guy - 6.5 ft / ~ 200 lbs > the thing doesn't move. [Note1: The entire rig is not ideal for flight-sim - you could however improvise a little and try fixing yoke/flight-stick/throttle and more onto it if you wanted - it's very modular. ] Alternatively and more to the point: Only use the floor 'arrester' aka 'cradle' to hold your chair in place via fixing the cradle segment to your desk. ( Some metalwork, get some extra struts / screws to extend and connect to desk legs ) With this you don't have to modify your chair at all - simply lift it up a little drop in in the 'cradle' - done. After sim session ( If you are a little creative in connecting it do your desk legs and considered a 'quick release' mechanism ): Bracket can easily be removed, folded up and stowed away. [ Note 2: Haven't found the chair cradle purchasable as single item so this solution might require you getting the entire rig - approx. 200 USD ] Maybe worth a thought. Requires a little improvising and some basic metalworking though.

G1000 Missing Many 'deeper' Menus - Am I missing something ?
Interesting answers so far. - Already thought that some options are hard to implement as MSFS is simply lacking some of the 'simulated infrastructure' ( Specific Radio, Radar networks, GPS and others ) I wonder if in future Flight Simulations Features like this will be implemented / fully simulated. Or even in some way added to the current one ? One can always improve. - Also did not realize how many workhours go into developing these simulated avionics. And that you are working on so many other units. Hope eventually - when you find the time - you will come back and 'finish' or at least polish the G1000 a little more - GPS Status e.g. :). Keep up the good work Matt and Team - I hope you continue to improve - and I appreciate the work you've already done.

G1000 Missing Many 'deeper' Menus - Am I missing something ?
So the 'Working Title' G1000 is currently the 'most complete' working G1000 in MSFS ? I understand WT prioritized key aspects that make it ( more ) functional. But is it really that hard and/or time-consuming to create a completely simulated G1000 in MSFS ? Anyways - Hopes up for 'MSFS2024' to maybe feature an actually complete G1000 :)

G1000 Missing Many 'deeper' Menus - Am I missing something ?
Thank you for the reply - so I am not alone on this. I wasn't even aware the Real-World G1000 in the Diamonds has a dedicated Engine Page !

G1000 Missing Many 'deeper' Menus - Am I missing something ?
Hello Guys ! Short Version: Wanted to check the more 'in depth' menus/settings in G1000 and realized many are STILL missing. Is this normal, are there alternatives ? Am I overlooking something ? Example: 'GPS Status': Not accessible. I wanted to go deeper into MSFS2020 G1000 Settings - Checking Simulated Satellite Coverage - 'GPS Status' - for example. ( These Settings can be reached by: ) - FMS Controls ( Larger Knob ) in MFD: > 'Map, WPT, Aux, FPL, NRST.' : > 'Aux' alone has 8 'Sub Menus' > 'Trip Planning', 'Utility', 'GPS Status', 'System Setup', 'XM Radio', 'System Status', 'Connext Setup', 'Databases'. - Even with Working Titles G1000 installed: Only ONE Option in AUX Menu - 'System Status' - is working. Is this 'normal' - so few of these 'sub' menu entries being not available ? Are we stuck with this limited version of the G1000 in MSFS for now ? Are there actual 'complete' versions of the G1000 for MSFS anyone here might be aware of ? I know there is a G3000 Version in MSFS featuring some of these additional Menus: Tested 'FlighFX SF50 Vision Jet G2' : 'GPS Status' is simulated there. Haven't gone into more detailed settings on the G1000 in years and doing so now realizing and very surprised that MSFS being out for almost half a decade still has one of the most used glass cockpit avionics in still such an incomplete state ?
