  1. What happens is that when I go to Full Screen Mode the GTN gets resized smaller, so I can see my desktop underneath and turns black so I can not see or interact with the gps. It would not have been a problem to run it in Windowed Mode but I just installed a RealSim Gear GTN 750 & 650. When I have my mouse pointer on a another monitor screen then touch GTN Monitor it will resize the Reality GPS. I would like to get them to stick to the screen if that is possible in Windowed Mode.
  2. A new problem has reared its ugly head on my black screen problem. I purchased the Realsimgear GTN 750 and GTN 650 screens. Now when I am trying to run both of the gps on each screen the windows keep getting resized when my mouse is on my non touch screen monitor and I click the GTN 750 screen. I don’t think it is a Reality problem but I would like to get both gps to stick to each screen. One thing I have noticed was that with the Carenado Piper Malibu add on I was able to run the GTN 750 on the correct screen and on Full Screen Mode. However the Carenado Piper Seneca would not.
  3. fppilot thanks for your suggestion. I tried the Reality XP update program. I was running version 2.5.27.2 then it updated to version 2.5.28 with an additional update to my Garmin trainers, now up to version 3.0.0. I had to manually launch the update .zip file so that might have been part of my problem. Now I have the April 2020 update. It’s time for some practice approaches and maybe some Pilot Edge!
  4. I have been trying to get my Reality GTN 750 and 650 working after I had a problem with the installation screen turning black with Flight Sim X not responding. As part of the trouble shooting I did a complete uninstall and reinstall of my Reality products. When I did that I found that the only version of the Garmin trainer that would work with it is the 6.21 version with the out dated NAV data. Before I know that I was able to use updated version of the Trainer because the airport that I fly out of in real life just changed the runway numbers and when I purchased the 750 I got the new runway information with it. Any Garmin Trainer above 6.21 simply dose not start in Flight Simulator X and the repGtnSim.dll error reads that the trainer can not be found or is not supported. I tried to update the database files from another post that RXP had with several file downloads but when I ran the _setup.msi it says that a newer version has already been installed. The .cab flies are downloaded into a folder and just sitting there right now. One post mentioned that I could change the path that looks for databases "edit/create a GTNDBFILE environment variable with the path to your DB file, like "C:\myfiles\my_new_avdb.bin" was the term. Can some one tell me where to edit this information is?
  5. I just got my problem figured out..... for the most part. I have to run FSX in Windowed mode and not in Full Screen to get the Reality XP set up wizard to work.
  6. I have just upgraded to the Steam Addition of FSX and am now having issues with the Reality XP set up wizard. As soon as I click on Add-ons > Reality XP GTN > Aircraft Set Up the simulator becomes a black screen and will not respond to mouse clicks anywhere on screen. When I try clicking it acts like I am on my desktop screen where I can move icons around and open folders/programs however nothing on Flight Sim X will respond. I had it working a few days before with the default Cessna 172 and the gps had no issues operating but when I tried to edit the settings it quit. I uninstalled the Realityxp GTN gps’s and reinstalled it but it still doesn’t work. when I do CTRL+ALT+DEL my task manager shows that FSX is running but it will not let me switch to anything else that is running. When I end task FSX stops with out a problem.
  7. How would I designate the master gps and would the second gps interact with the first like if changing the flight plan on the back up would the master get updated?
  8. I have a single Reality GNS 430 v2 at the moment and I have been thinking about adding the Reality GTN 750 to my FSX. can I use the GTN 750 as COMN/NAV #1 and have the GNS430 set to COMN/NAV #2?
  9. I turned off my anti virus and reinstalled it but Norton blocked it again. It apparently dose not like the Heur.AdvML.D part of the Reality xp.dll.
  10. I am having an issue where my 430 WAAS gps has the pink Reality XP logo displayed over my gps like I do not have a license or something. I first noticed it a few months ago, I had not been my flight sim for some time because real world flying what I was doing. I jumped on to FSX to do some approaches on PilotEdge but the gps would not work. I ended up reinstalling the hole package to get it to work. Now fast forward to December and the same thing has happened again. I don’t want to reinstall it again because I had to reset everything again. Dose anyone have any ideas?
  11. I am running FS9 with the patch and I only have the Reality 430 GPS at this time.
  12. Bert, I am building a mini cockpit panel. I wish I could upload a photo of what I have so far but I can't figure out how.
  13. Well I know that this simulator has been out of production for a long time but I still use it because I have spent a lot of money on add on stuff that I like use. One of the most recent additions was the Reality 430 GPS. I got it installed without much trouble but I found out that it will not control the HSI on a few of the planes that I have installed such as the Carenado Cessna 210 and Cessna 337. The GPS functions just like it should with the Reality GPS controlling com/nav 1 radio frequencies including the source for eather VLOC/GPS of the GPS but the CDI will simply not follow the flight plan of the Reality GPS. I have tried several times to use the GPS configuration tool and I even reinstalled the aircraft in question but it still will not work. One thing that is interesting is that I have other aircraft from Caenado that are older that I have no problem at all using the GPS. If anyone has the same aircraft and had this problem and fixed it I like to hear what you did to fix it. I emailed Carenado about it and they said they where working on a fix for their aircraft but the patch will only be for FSX/P3D.
  14. I have been using the Reality 430 GPS for a while by itself on a full sized monitor but I recently added the Desktop Aviators gps panel with a small 7" monitor. When I searched the internet I found one suggestion that needs a window created in the panel configuration file but I can't get it to work at the moment. I also found a reference that says there is a setting in the pro pack of the GPS that lets you do it, I have not been able to find this. I was aware of the limited support for this product when I bought it but I saw the recent posts here and thought I would give it a try.
