  1. I'm looking for the basic stuff for the moment. I find it easier to listen to someone talk through a startup. I've found videos, but none of them talk through what they're doing. Gaz
  2. Thanks, but do you reckon that will help? I've never used a video of a real life jet in Prepar3d. Thanks, Gaz
  3. Hi. I've bought this aircraft without looking up to see if there is any help on YouTube with it. I can find videos, but it's like they're silent, no instructor. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it. Thanks, Gaz

    FSLabs A320

Which plane? I you referring to the A320 or the aircraft I mentioned, the Alabeo DA42? Gaz

Yeah, looks like your right. I'm still trying to get myself trained on the Alabeo DA42 first, and it's taking sine time. Any advice on that would be good! Gaz
  6. Hi I've been using this aircraft for some time as I was told it was good for training. I still fly VFR. The problem I have is that I generally find any changes I make in flight quite sluggish. Also, if I make a change to the amount of throttle, its almost like the aircraft hits bad turbulence. Its almost like any changes to the flight path have to be done very carefully - much more careful than other aircraft I bought. Rather than using this aircraft 'out of the box', should I be making changes to any config? When I watch any YouTube videos with this aircraft, they don't seem like training vids - quite often they taxi the aircraft very fast and it seems unstable, which is what I expect with mine, so I have to taxi very slowly. Any help or someone telling me about their experience would be good.. I appreciate it. Gaz

    FSLabs A320

I got it off Amazon.: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06Y4GZS9C/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 7th Generation Intel Core i7-7700HQ Processor (Up to 3.8GHz), 16GB DDR4 Memory and 256GB SSD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 with 6 GB of dedicated GDDR5 VRAM 15.6" Full HD (1920 x 1080) widescreen IPS display, Up to 7-hours of battery life How come? Would it be affected by the update or anything? I'm still flying in A Diamond DA42 for training, so I think I might be too early to buy that Airbus. Thanks, Gaz
  8. Personally, I think they're great in UTL. I was surprised to see some of the very up to date aircraft and liveries. Gaz
  9. Yeah, I know what you mean. I have only tried it once since the upgrade, and it worked great, like you say. I now have to think about the maps-problem I've got! It's like I never fly, I am always trying to set up a good flight simulator, lol ! Gaz
  10. Just to add, because I've tried rebuilding the FsMovMap2 , and said I want a complete rebuild, it seems to work if I tell it run run as administrator, until it gets to a certain point where it just stops responding. If there was a log to show you, I would, but here's a screenshot at least: https://photos.app.goo.gl/zPgUxocZn4BwKkgB6 Is there something corrupt about my installation of P3D causing this, or is it about something else? Gaz
  11. Hi I posted the message below about some apps for navigation - it was in a long thread and I thought it would be good to start a new topic about it, because it's specifically only about 2 apps now. The first one is http://www.mobileaviationtools.com. - The initial problem I had was something to do with the firewall on my pc: when I tried to connect from my tablet I got the message "FSUIPC Error : Connection Error", but did not cause the tablet app to crash. - However, when I turn the home firewall off on my pc, then try the connection, I don't get this error, the app simply crashes. I can redo this, the question is what is causing the app on my tablet to crash when it can talk to the pic? The other tool I was trying to learn was FsMovMap2 Pro. Originally it was working, but it stopped so I had to reinstall it, however I can't rebuild the database For some reason - it says it can't find files : https://photos.app.goo.gl/DyS3kJbKxgqV5ssU6. I can see why that message is being generated ; those files do not exist, the D:\Prepar3D v4\Fonts directory exists, but not the Scenery directory below that (which is what the tool is looking for). Since this has a really big effect of my training and navigation - I would really appreciate some help on either of those tools. Thanks, Gaz
  12. Sorry I haven't replied for a while on this subject, but I've made a couple of tests and now I have problems! Had anyone tried http://www.mobileaviationtools.com? The tablet maps are great, but I'm having real trouble getting the prepar3d pc to talk to the tablet. If anyone knows where their support is, that would be great. The other tool I was trying to learn was FsMovMap2 Pro. Originally it was working, but it stopped so I had to reinstall it, however I can't rebuild the database For some reason - it says it can't find files : https://photos.app.goo.gl/DyS3kJbKxgqV5ssU6 Any advice would be good. These both look like good apps if I could get them working. Gaz
  13. Oh well, bad news. I followed my advice to get it working the other day (...and it had worked), but today it has not. I was using x-plane before because I liked it, but hated the ATC (if you would consider there being one at all!). Now I'm looking at P3D as not having ATC that works at all for me. I'm going to stay positive about it, though, as hope it's fixed. Gaz
  14. Interesting - I am the opposite, and the guy I live with hates it when I update all my apps on my Android phone on the day they are released, without reading what the update is good for, or will it cause damage (which is why he waits). Interestingly, I have my 6 weeks of radiotherapy coming up, so if anything is released during then, I probably won't be around to update my system, anyway. I think you are right, though. Yep - I keep being told that, and you're right! 😱 Thanks to both of you, and I know you're right. Gaz
  15. Thanks Stephen! That makes sense to me. I've set back to start at the default P3D screen, but also start at the load scenario screen, and it all works, same reason as yours, it sounds. Prepar3d is pretty new to me. So they release updates with an easy install, or is it a big thing? Gaz
  16. Hmmm... It's worrying really. Hopefully it will be fixed. Having said that, I don't think it's a high priority for LM. And I get the impression that not many Prepar3d users use built-in ATC. Maybe I'm wrong. Gaz
  17. I didn't quite have to do that, I just had to change the default scenario to the default one that came 'out of the box', if you see what I mean. I just need to remember not to change the default scenario now. Thanks for that. I should always be doing it, but I forgot. Anyway, the Google search pointing me to a discussion on the Prepar3d.com forum talking about what is the default scenario, so I appreciate it - problem fixed! Gaz
  18. I'm confused, because it was working until the last time I used it, and as I say, I installed FSUIPC (not that I know of it having anything to do with it). Looking at it, it looks different in other ways - when I move to the Spot view and try to move the 'camera' around the aircraft, it starts and stops the move very suddenly; that's not how it was working, or how it comes out of the box. Come to think of it - I also ran AITTP.exe (which tries to change the AI taxi speeds), so maybe it has done changes. Why would a bug just come in when I haven't done anything to the app except install one of these programs? Makes me suspicious! Thanks, Gaz
  19. Hi I understand this is probably not used by many in the Prepar3d world, but I like to use the built-in ATC. It's always worked - until now! Now, whatever I have the frequency set to, all the options listed in the radio box are greyed out. To be honest, I don't normally manually change the frequency since there is an option to automatically do it, but that it also greyed out now... In fact, all the transmission options are greyed out. It even stays that way when I set the COM1 to the frequency of the local airport I'm trying to talk to. The only thing that I've changed on my system lately is that I installed the full version of FSUIPC, but I have made no changes to what was installed, and I can't see anything in there that would have an impact on the radio. There is a screenshot of the cockpit settings in the link below - although it's hard to tell the ATC options are greyed out, they don't work. https://photos.app.goo.gl/5hWdoehvndM2HxQM8 I would love any help. Thanks, Gaz
  20. Yeah, II can see a good few of them, nice looking planes. I can't see one with the G1000 cockpit, though. I assume there aren't any IRL. that C172 L looks great, though.
  21. Brilliant! That's exactly the sort of thing I need. Yeah, I bought this one, but I have to admit I do have some difficulty controlling the aircraft, especially when I make a slightest change to the engine thrust. I can control it in flight - generally without problem, but when it comes down to the last 20feet off the ground it seems to react as if it is hitting serious turbulence. I find it frustrating and thought I would try another plane, but if you think this is normal, I will continue training on that plane. Well, I did say 'like the real world' - on a simulator forum, so no, I don't want it to be the real thing, just what I can get of it from Prepar3d! It seems you both think I'm asking for which plane to go and use in real life, I'm sorry - I'll try and make it clear (from now on) that in this simulator forum - asking about simulators. Liking something to the real thing means I'm asking about a simulated item here. Thanks, Gaz
  22. Hi I'm looking to buy a new aircraft for training. Like in the real world, I'm guessing a small cessna is a good start, but I'm up for suggestions. The important thing for me is the G1000. Whatever it is, I want a modern cockpit, such as one having a g1000. I would appreciate advice on what to buy. Thanks, Gaz
  23. Great stuff. I really appreciate you getting back to me. Thanks, Gaz
