  1. I just spotted Flight Gear - it looks like... erm... FS98... but I reckon it'll be perfect for him.
  2. Hey all, My little brother is desperate to get a flight sim. I guess he just wants to be like his brother 🙂. What are some decent flight sims which will be able to run on an old macbook air? I looked at Aerofly FS2 but was disgusted by the lack of clickable buttons in the cockpit! Cheers
  3. Hiya, I've had a look around but couldn't find an answer - is advertising twitch channels permitted, if so, where? Cheers!
  4. Hi there, I'd like to buy a cheap (very cheap) tablet I can use as a little EFB for charts and the like. The Amazon Fire 7 looks promising, but I'd like to know if anyone knows anything even cheaper, even crappier?
  5. After watching the new Discovery Series episode on Multiplayer last night, one question popped into my head: Will this be the end of hopes of bringing VATSIM to MSFS2020? It seems to me that the developers over at Microsoft have put an awful lot of effort into their multiplayer system, although with no hints of any kind of ATC implementation. I would have thought that given the influence that online ATC services such as VATSIM and IVAO have had on flight simulators over the past 20 years, they surely would have addressed it somehow. Perhaps they do not feel the need to have it at all in the new flight sim. Thoughts?
  6. Consider Thomas Cook Virtual. As the name suggests, we are indeed based on the now defunct Thomas Cook Airlines. Our hubs are in the UK, but we fly to more than 80 destinations in over 30 countries. Our first ranks are increments of 5/10 hours, but the gap slowly increases the higher ranked you become. We have no rank requirements for flying specific aircraft. We currently fly the A321 and A330, but are currently introducing the 757, 767 and 737. Come and join our Discord for more info: https://discord.gg/gKTBdmz Our website: http://www.tcxvirtual.com Happy flying!
  7. I am aware - currently waiting on an SSL certificate. Edit: Certificate just came through.
  8. Pilots! After much planning and two weeks of hard work, I am proud to announce that Thomas Cook Virtual has begun operations! We currently fly to more than 80 destinations in 32 countries around the globe in North America, Africa, Asia and Europe. Our current fleet consists of the A330 and A321, and we are currently in the process of expanding our fleet to include the 737, 757 and 767. At the heart of our Airline is a sleek, modern, functional crew centre powered by Mark Swan’s CrewCenter. Book and plan flights easily with our SimBrief integration, and track and submit flights with our easy to use ACARS software. 9. Hi all,I did post in the Audio for VATSIM forum, but I think this might be a better place.Today I installed X-Pilot and ran the setup. Other than a few issues setting push to talk (which I solved), all went smoothly. However, when I try and connect, the connection works but I get the error “Error connecting to voice servers: The request timed out”. I don’t have voice functionality.Any fixes? Thanks!
  10. Hi all, Im looking into buying trackir but I have a few questions: Will I experience performance drops? Does it work with headshake? Many thanks, Will
  11. Hi all, I’ve always found the idea of X-Plane bush flying incredibly attractive. I know that I want to use the free PropStrikeStudios C172, but I don’t know about scenery. What are the best (both payware and freeware) North American bush flying sceneries?
  12. Cheers. I've had suggestions for the 1660ti from friends, so I think I'll go for that.
  13. Thanks. So what GPU do you think would be best?
  14. @turnandbank thanks for those videos. Instead of deciding to go for i5-9600k, I would choose AMD RYZEN 5 3600X. You get .1GHz faster base speed for marginally cheaper. However, for graphics card, I’m still stumped. I run games at 2K, and don’t know whether I should get 1060 or better. Please do remember that I want to do a cheap build, but still get my bang for my buck! Cheers!
  15. Hi all, I've just decided that I'm going to move to XP for my simming. However, I need to invest in a new pc for it. From your experiences, what is a decent (but cheap) set of specs for running xp with decent graphics and scenery? Cheers, Will
