  1. I think I found the answer to my question on my own. Should have looked harder before I wrote.\ FWIW these controls are accessed of all places with "Set FSX Control" menu item when you attempt to edit a joystick button, like so:
  2. I would like to program some buttons on my joystick to control my mixture and prop rpms, but those controls don't seem to be programmed in any of the stock Linda libs. Am I just overlooking it? If not, I guess I need to edit one of the user scripts for this purpose. Can someone help with a script with functions to control the mixture and/or props? Or point me in the right direction where I could write the functions myself? Thanks. Gil
  3. Thanks, I'm emailing you now. Gil
  4. I am having a problem with the stock GNS 430 in my Bonanza F33A. I can't create a flight plan with it. In the following video, I start up the Bonanza and then access the GNS 430 FLT page. The first odd thing I noticed is that the local airport (KOGD in this case) is not listed. The second thing is that I can't get a cursor to appear so I can enter waypoints. Is this not modelled in the Carenado Bonanza? Or am I doing something wrong?
  5. I just finished a flight in the Bonanza and noticed the fuel selector appeared to be in the off position! When I hovered over the knob, however, a tooltip appeared that said it was in the "All" position.
  6. Thanks for the explanation. After rebooting the computer I was able to load up the plane with the new gauge installed. Hopefully, it was just procmon.exe after all and it won't bother me again. I was also trying to fight off some malware yesterday, so that might have caused a problem with the product too. As long as it doesn't hinder my flight time, all is well. 😉
  7. I have used procmon.exe today, but I don't think it was running when I got these errors. Running a test right now without procmon.exe running just to be sure.... No, the error still appears without procmon.exe running. And to be sure I just checked with task manager to be sure that procmon.exe wasn't running in the background. It's not. Thanks for the reply though. It could be a clue toward a resolution.
  8. I am having another problem with my new GNS 750/650 gauges that I'm unsure how to fix. Sometimes I am able to access the gauges for aircraft where I've modified panel.cfg, but then the second or third time I try to access one of the gauges I get the following error message and the gauge popup will not appear. I found this exchange with a Google search: https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/forums/topic/162529-reality-xp-warning-a-monitor-program-has-been-found-running-in-your-system/ In it, RXP says, "This message is due to the use of system monitor and this is expected: this is our software protection doing its job." My guess is that this means it's meant to protect the software against unlicensed use, but I have a license. What's wrong in this case? Gil Yoder
  9. Okay, I was able to add a GNS 650 to my Steam Beechcraft Bonanza as you can see here. All I had to do was to copy rxpGTN.dll into the special gauges folder that was created for the aircraft, and modify the panel.cfg file appropriately. Next thing to do is to replace the default 530 in the 3D cockpit with the 650. It's not an ideal solution, but at least it's workable. Gil
  10. This turned out to be false. I tried to add a pop-up window by cutting a window I created for the default Cessna 172 and pasting it into one of my Steam add-ons. The result was that FSX-SE crashed when I tried to access the aircraft. So, I'm not sure it would be so simple just to edit the panel.cfg by hand. I might have to copy some dlls in the aircraft's own gauges folder to make it work, but I'm not sure that would work either. Gil
  11. Thanks, Charlie. I'm glad to be here. I've read the forums for a long time, but this is the first time I've needed to post a question.
  12. I just bought the GTN750 and GTN650 from Reality XP and I am experiencing a problem setting GNS up on some of my planes in FSX-SE. I am able to access the setup window from the Add-ons menu to configure default aircraft and others that are installed under the SimObjects/Aircraft directory, but if I try to access the setup menu for aircraft that have been installed in other directories, the setup menu never appears. For example, one of my Steam purchases is installed under D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\FSX\DLC\896744\SimObjects\Airplanes instead of the default directory, D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes. If I load up that aircraft and click the menu item to open the setup window, it never appears and an error message is recorded in rxpGTN_menu.dll.log that looks like this: 19/02/21 17:37:13.138 14092 ERROR] unknown panel.cfg path I know I could modify the panel.cfg file myself, but I'd rather use the setup utility for this. Is there a way to tell the software how to find these files? Thanks for your consideration. Gil
