MSFS Adaptive LOD
I tried that. I'm using an 10 year old ISP LG 24MP55 monitor so with the refresh rate set to 50, anything fps under 48 makes the screen jitter as I pan left or right. I'm using a MSI 1080TI graphics card So if the FPS goes below my refresh rate the jitters happen I even tried locking the ingame refresh rate setting to half my montior refresh rate and the jitters it are really terrible! I don't understand how people can get a "smooth as silk" fluid motion when using locking at half the refresh rate. I'll shout a meal at the local pub to anyone who can solve that for me using my current hardware 🙂

I'm not quite sure what you mean here. Can you please rephrase? I think what RALF9636 posted is correct and that my solution wouldn't work 😞 "That would mean that the TLOD would be increased up to the upper limit whenever your FPS limit (by VSync) is reached no matter how much headroom is left. So even when your FPS are still stable but just about to drop when approaching a large addon airport the tool would still increase the TLOD" MSFS Adaptive LOD - Page 62 - Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) - The AVSIM Community I can see how my proposed solution would create a constend feedback loop of it constantly trying to raise and lower the TLOD causing stuttering Looks like trying to find a solution for those using Vsync is a little trickier than I thought! Dang I'm now seriously considering buying a GSync monitor!

This AutoFPS is exactly what is needed in this sim so well done sir for tackling this. I noticed that it wasn't automatically raising the TLOD and I think I know why! I use Vsync at 50fps so in the app I've set my Target FPS to 50 Therefor if I have the FPS tollerance set to say 10%, I think that means the app is looking for a sim FPS of 55fps before it start raising the TLOD but it will never reach that 55 fps because I have Vsync turned on to lock at 50fps I proved this theory by setting my Target FPS at 45 and then the app worked, raising the TLOD as my FPS reached the Vsync rate of 50 fps THE SOLUTION The FPS Tollerance should only be used to determine if the App should decrease the TLOD once the fps reaches the lower FPS tolerance level. Once the App sees the Target FPS value it should then start raising the TLOD Hope that makes sence! Edit: I wonder if there should also be a time millisecond threash hold before it starts dropping the TLOD to allow for the new TLOD fps to settle. My system can take a second for the fps to settle after a 5 step or if I pan left or right

I'm so impressed with the quality of your work Reset XPDR, your updates to this App is bringing me a whole new love for this sim. I'm most impressed by the logic you are adding. Thanks for making my old PC feel new again 🙂

Have you considered the Building Setting? Being able to have that reduced one level when sitting on the tarmac gives me and extra 5 to 10 fps

I understand your logic but thats not the case. I'm not 100% sure on the reason why it's the obvious but I'd guess it's because the lower you fly the intricate the objects and shadows are. eg at height a tree is just a green blob, down low you see the tree trunk and branches and leaves. On my aging old PC I can run all graphics on ultra except clouds and AI at 30% when I use this tool I've set it up that when I'm on the ground my LOD is 50 and then step it all the way up to 300 when at 5000 feet. This gives me a rock solid 50 FPS to match my monitors refresh rate so that I can vsync it. My tec is old, I have a 8700K @4.6khz and a 1080ti at stock. My monitor is only a 1080p hence why I can run the graphics so high but dang I'm happy with how it all runs now

I've selected the Auto Start with FS2020 option, that way the program will automaticallly start AND automatically close when you exit fs2020. That avoids accidently opening the program twice. I've never had any trouble adjusting the the values whilst in the sim, occasionally it hasn't stepped up the levels but if I drop down to the level where it appears stuck it then seems to right itself

Anybody know of any 3rd party software that I can use to assign a hotkey to change the profiles in this App?

adding to that, if the game does crash for some reason, restarting the game solves the problem Occasionally when doing lots of alterations to the TLOD levels whilst in a flight, at the end of the flight it won't load back to the menu so I have to kill FS2020 in task manager. Apart from that it's ver very stable

ok what I've recognised is that mine only drops to 0.5 when I'm at at airport that is demanding on FPS, mine doesn't drop to 0.5 at a small runway but at a city airport it does

This little peice of software is a fantastic! I can't believe it's not part MSFS 2020 already! I've got the TLOD and OLOD Level step downs/ups working perfectly, I love how you can make changes whilst in game. I've been playing around the FPS Adaption section and whilst it reacts when the sim drops below the target average FPS, it doesn't seep to recognise the "Reduce for" value! This means it's constantly changing the LOD back and forth between the assigned TLOD level and the FPS Adaption "reduce by" level cause the game to stutter. My understanding is that the "Reduce for" second value should prevent this constant swapping and hold the reduced LOD (60 seconds by default) for the specified length of seconds Am I misunderstanding this or is this a bug? Also, what is the "Reduce only for INdices (#).." value mean? Cheers
