  1. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with me, Which leads to another Question. In the procedure page of GS 500 there is no circling approach listed. Do you know why this would be. Thank you
  2. Hi I am planning my first GPS plight using the GS500 in FSX cessna 172 skyhawk I plan to fly from 4B6 to KLKP on the New York sectional landing at Runway 32. I have downloaded the approach plate for both R32 and R14 . My question is why does R 14 show a TDZE and an MDA but R32 shows neither. Also R32 has a displacement of 1140 feet and this info is also missing. Finally what is the significance of R32 being -A while R14 is called RWY14 Could any kind soul please illuminate me on these anomalies. Regards
  3. Hi I am working my way through a navigation tutorial by charles Wood using the cessna 172 which has been modified to add digital readout to all the gauges. I am at the stage where he has just added using the "localizer" for landing. It uses the same gauges as for vor 1 and vor 2 but without the functionality of the OBS as it only transmitts one radial ( the runway heading). As such the gauge is 4 times more sensitive than the vor as each dot is equivalent to 0.5 degrees. he comments " how do you correct a heading that is misaligned by 0.5 degrees? you kick it over, yes you use your rudder pedals and you "kick" the pedal on the side that you want to turn to. He goes on to say "you simply dont bank a plane you want to make a 1 degree heading adjustment to". My problem is, my Pro Pedals only work in conjunction with the aeirlions using FS9. Is there any setting I can alter to get the pedals to work as Charles advised.(I have disabled the auto rudder). Regards Art
  4. ok thanks for that. have installed active sky now and am having problems with that. Is it compatible with fs 9 under win 10 Thanks
  5. Hi I am running FS9 in a windows 10 enviroment. I have just installed Active sky advanced and fuisc 3.99 I have configured Fuisc as per the user manual in ASA and it shows up in the modules tab when running FS9 My problem is there is no sign of any ASA involvement even though it is running in the background and I cannot access it without exiting from fs9 as my fs 9 seems to be running in Dos mode Any suggestions would be appreciated
  6. Hi I understand that but surely once ypu drop below 800 you should at least see the ground below. I see nothing but cloud till 300 feet.
  7. Hi Im still using fs9 because of the aircraft im using which is the cessna 172 learner which has digital gauges (not available on FSX) My problem is setting cloud layer. For instance set to overcast and a base layer of 800 feet tops of 10000. Approach the airport with a mile visibility and I cant see the runway till I get below 300 feet and by then its too late. Any explanation would be welcome. Thanks
  8. Hi all I am new to flight sims and I am trying to learn navigation using the Nav trainer by Chale wood. I am at the stage now where he has introduced DME and the flight to to KFMH requires me to set Nav1 to 115.8 kHz and begin descent at DME13. My problem is that the King radio in the nav trainer panel only increments and decrements by 0.5 kHz and The DME panel only shows dashes. This applies whether I select 115.05 or 115.10. any advice would be appreciated
  9. Hi I am a complete newbie to flight sims so apologies in advance for any naievity. I am running FS2004 under win 7 and have installed the nav trainer from Ike at coyote avionics. In my previous post I intimated that gauges were missing in fact all the gauges are there but the adf gauge doesnt appear to work. i have searched on the web and have been told that I have to tune in the nearest ADF beacon (the one I want to track) My problem is I cant get the radio stack to appear. Does anybody know how to do this while in Nav trainer. Thanks in advance,
  10. Hi Does anybody know where I can get a copy of Nav trainer by Ike from coyote avionics, that will run in Win 7 I have a copy that runs fine in Win Xp(far too slow) The same version will load and run in win 7 but with missing gauges. Any help much appreciated
