The point of the thread was to ask for suggestion on camera solutions, whereas you are just trolling because you want to defend a poorly designed camera. You are probably the type of person to also think that asbestos in housing is not a big deal, and would adapt to that as well, lol.

That and so much more! I was trying to look around in wing view just now, after using one of the fixed camera options. It does not let you look around once you are in that fixed view. You can only look around in the generic external view. So limiting. Don't get me wrong, the views are beautiful.

It's funny that you both think this is a good camera system. Guess you just haven't experienced any better. Your loss, really. 🤷‍♂️

Yup, this was it! It's weird how they placed the option to switch to cockpit, under a different category than the one to switch to external, when there is a category that has the word switch in it. 🤦‍♂️ If Cockpit, Drone, External and Fixed are camera states, there should be an independent option under switch or cameras in general to switch or cycle between all of them. I'll just have to get used to the new system, but I do believe that an addon like Chaseplane can make life easier. Each view is nice and cleanly categorized, in a compact manner, and you can right click any view and assign a key or button. Either way, thanks for the help!

It's not just me. I made sure to include a link in my original post, to another thread with someone having the same exact issue. Googling will show more examples. Just because you can't replicate it, doesn't mean it's not happening to others.

That's great but lets get back to the true purpose of this thread, which is to ask if there are any alternative solutions out there for camera control in MSFS. Let me know if you find anything!

Just being able to assign weights to cameras is awesome. Not to mention details like how it pans from camera to camera, and what views it uses in cinematic mode. All easily assignable by right clicking on a view. Spoiled me!

I've owned MSFS for a year now, and can confidently say that the camera system has a lot of room for improvement. Chaseplane is sorely missed.

That's what is not working, unfortunately. I also posted a link to another forum thread where someone else was having the same problem. Googling it will show you that many others have also run into it. It takes you to external, but then does not want to go back into cockpit view. This should be a very simple thing to do and set up, but the camera control options are convoluted. An addon like Chaseplane would have saved me a lot of time on these issues right away, in my opinion.

I appreciate that some find the controller to be useful. I want to have more key options available though, and would prefer finding a camera addon solution in the long term, if possible. Chaseplane provided more than just view shortcuts. It gave cinematics, auto import of views, customization of cameras, easy-to-use UI for moving around the camera, and so forth. The control options in MSFS are clunky, and seem to reset back to the top of page every time I change a key assignment. It seems to expand sections I am not going into. It's missing some useful settings that would make life easier, in my opinion.

I see all the beautiful screenshots of MSFS, and would like to switch over from P3D, but their cameras are just so hacky. For example, there doesn't seem to be a clear way to toggle between cockpit and external cameras. Others have also had the same confusion. The following shortcut does not work: What is everyone using as a camera solution? I thought Chaseplane did an amazing job with P3D, and cannot wait for their MSFS version.

I agree that A is a 'nice to have feature', but B should be handled in a more graceful manner. I personally end up having to load up at multiple airports all the time, for example to test the latest GSX bugs and what airports they are happening at. I think it's reasonable to expect wrong airport loading. Regarding the last point, I am following the same path in Pro Atc, and have the latest Navigraph updates. I load the same flight plan from simbrief into both pro atc and fms, so they should be the same.

Yeah, it was designed with the expectation that you use multiple monitors, which I feel is a flawed assumption. They offer a shortcut to show and hide the main window, so why not also the smaller one?

The reason I say new is because a new version called PRO ATC SR came out, as opposed to the old PRO ATC X. Seems to have some of the issues the original had, and some new ones.

Thank God for this forum! If it was up to addon devs, they would just hide behind forum technicalities, rather than help debug their product issues.

Here is the summary of issues I have found with the new version of PRO ATC SR. Their forum verification process is broken so I am posting here in the meantime. Cannot hide annoying PRO ATC SR popup. There is no button to toggle it on and off, which is a pretty big oversight, in my opinion. No one wants some ugly gray window covering the beautiful scenery. Cannot disable pro atc services if you want to switch to VATSIM. It forces you to quit it entirely and you cannot restart mid flight. If god forbid you start flight at the wrong airport, you get a non stop error spam you can only stop through the Task Manager. Doesn't seem like it was very well tested. Cannot set volumes differently for cabin crew vs ATC. The volume slider also doesn't seem to work quite right. Can barely hear them at 80% and it's extremely loud at 90%. It keeps trying to give you weird heading changes mid flight when there are none needed. Overall I would say that this addon is too new and still has room for improvement. I would also like to point out that the dev only somewhat became responsive when the new version came out, and would not really respond beforehand to anyone's post for the most part. In other words, buyer beware.

Thank you for the suggestions. I personally don't find the cost benefit ratio of Dynamic Lighting to be worth the trouble. PMDG lighting the tarmac is pretty much the only time I ever need it. After years of each of us dealing with debugging P3D, I think we each have our theories of what causes the most crashes. One of them, for me, is this feature, which I have started disabling for all addons as well. So far so good. Just going to fly during the day on PMDG until I find a fix for lighting the tarmac. In exchange for leaving it off, I can also turn up all other settings with more confidence.

PMDG models require Dynamic Lighting in order for your lights to see the tarmac. Why do they insist on only making their lights work in this fashion, when Dynamic Lights is so heavy on performance? Does anyone know of an alternative to get PMDG lights working on the tarmac without Dynamic Lighting enabled? That would be awesome and I would never have to worry about turning on that performance hurting setting on again.

Just bought the new Pro ATC SR, and I am running into the following error: To make things more frustrating, there seems to be nothing in their Help section about this error. Has anyone gotten this to work? I tried installing FSUIPC as some googling suggested, but that didn't solve it. Pretty disappointing experience for $50

SODE is on. Based on the posts on the fsdreamteam forum, everyone is having the same issue since latest GSX release.
