  1. Hi ngc427, Hi everyone I'm glad it worked out. I'd love to take a look at your AI formation and maybe even try flying it. Could you send me the relevant files as a zip file? I mean Flight.fxml, Flight.pln, Flight.wx, and Flight.xml (there might not be a Flight.pln file). My email address is [email protected] If you need some more practice with SimDirector, I recommend my tutorial. Using a simple mission that you can recreate step by step, I explain many of SimDirector's functions and potential pitfalls. You can find the tutorial here: ExampleFlight By the way, this tutorial is interesting for anyone who wants to try SimDirector themselves.
  2. Hi everyone, (Hallo Leute, deutscher Text weiter unten...) A new mission has just gone online: Memory Flight After successfully creating a TicTacToe Flight, I wanted to put together another game. After searching for a while, I came up with the game Memory. You can fly this game here. With 3565 objects, this is by far the largest mission I have ever created. I usually use 300-1000 objects, see my mission statistics. If you are interested, you can read here how I created this mission: Diary Memory Flight Creation As with TicTacToeFlug, I created the memory game without using scripts. So only with actions, triggers, and objects. The number of objects used is correspondingly large. Click here for a larger view. Everyone should know how to play Memory. What makes this flight game special is that the playing field hangs in the air and can be flown through from both sides. Accordingly, the symbols are arranged mirror-inverted when viewed from the other side. Another special feature is that you don't play against other players, but against yourself, or rather your memory. Depending on the size of the playing field, you have a certain number of attempts. A hangman indicates how many attempts you have left. You can play with any aircraft; the playing field is large enough that even the largest aircraft (AN225) can be used. Even gliders are possible, because I have built in special thermals for gliders. The flight is available in German and English and works with P3dV4, P3dV5, and P3dV6. You can download the mission here: MemoryFlight Have fun!
  3. Hello ngc427 Unfortunately, I can only help you indirectly because I don't work with FSX Mission Editor 2. To be precise, I don't even create missions for FSX, but for its successor, Prepared. However, Prepared is still so similar to FSX that I can open and edit FSX missions using its Mission Editor (called SimDirector). This way, I was able to make many FSX missions work in Prepared by making minor modifications (often the missions don't work because a certain aircraft or building isn't available in Prepared; I replace it with something similar, and the missions work). But now to your question about whether it's generally possible to have AI aircraft follow waypoints: It works perfectly; in some standard FSX missions, AI aircraft follow waypoints. I recommend opening and analyzing existing missions in your Mission Editor 2. For example, "TokyoExec" and "Triangle" use such waypoints for the following AI aircraft. Triangle is probably the best option for you, as it has a squadron following a waypoint list in the shape of a figure 8. (These are the five torpedo bombers that disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle in 1945.) In my sim editor, the flight loop looks like this: There are five WP lists, each with 10 waypoints, which fly the loop again at the end of the loop (infinitely). So, if you analyze this mission, you should be able to create your own mission without any problems. Good luck! If it works, I would like to test your finished mission, because I have FSX installed on my PC in addition to Prepared.
  4. Hello folks A few new missions have now gone online, for example: -1- Helicopter school in 2 parts. In helicopter school part 1 you will learn how to pick up and put down the helicopter. You will also complete hover exercises in the hover square. The mission includes detailed training documents from Bernhard. Bernhard was a helicopter pilot on the UH 1-D (including IFR) and a flight instructor on the AL II in the German army during basic helicopter training. The individual exercises each last 15 to 45 minutes, but you must be aware that you will need to complete around 5 hours of training to be able to master hovering to some extent. In the helicopter school part 2 you will learn how to climb/descent at a constant speed and climb/descent rate. You will also fly curves with different bank angles. Finally, you will practice the quick stop. After extensive training on these 2 missions, you will have mastered helicopter flight perfectly. -2- VOR training 1) With the Maule, flying is quite easy, thanks to the modern autopilot, 2 navigation displays and DME. 2) With the C69, flying is much more difficult because the old autopilot has only a few functions. In addition, there is only one navigation display and no DME. You have to measure the distances to be flown using a stopwatch. There is no stopwatch built into the C69, so you have to have one ready; if necessary, a cell phone with a stopwatch function will also work. -3- IslandAirlines In this mission, you fly the route of the shortest airline in the world in a Ford Tri-Motor. The route goes from Port Clinton (KPCW), to Put in Bay (3W2), then to Middle Bass East Point (2W9), to Rattlesnake (58OH), to North Bass (3X5), back to Put in Bay (3W2) and back to the departure airport Port Clinton (KPCW). A round with 6 takeoffs and 6 landings takes around 60 minutes. Two rounds are flown in constantly changing wind and weather conditions, so you have plenty of time to get to know the plane thoroughly. Some landings will take place in strong crosswinds, so it is helpful to be able to interpret the windsock correctly, see picture. -4- TicTacToeFlug Lockheed Martin has included a "Tic-Tac-Toe Script Example" with the flight simulator. This example is not very graphically appealing, you play against yourself (not a computer opponent) and you simply stand on the runway while playing. That's why I wanted to find out whether you can create a Tic Tac Toe flight without scripting. I managed to create the game as a flight and, better still, in contrast to the "Tic Tac Toe Script Demo" by Lockeed Martin, my flight also has an intelligent AI as a computer opponent. The player has an X as a game piece, the AI a ■. This flight - Tic Tac Toe has a special feature: you can see the game board from two sides. From the other side, all the game pieces that have already been placed are mirror images. So after turning them over, you have to "rethink" them. You can play with any aircraft, even the largest aircraft, the AN225, can fly through the large game board. Gliders are also allowed, and thermals are activated if necessary. Shown here with a green frame for clarity. You can choose to play against simple or intelligent AI. With the simple AI you can win, with the intelligent AI a draw is the maximum possible. As is usual with my missions, something unexpected can happen. In other words, I have built in an "Easter Egg" that is triggered in a certain game situation with a 50% chance. Who will find the "Easter Egg"? The flights are available in German and English and work with P3dV4, P3dV5 and P3dV6. You can download the missions for free here: https://andi20.ch/p3d/ Have fun.
  5. The English mission has as downliadlink: https://andi20.ch/p3d/missionen/Island%20Landing1/Island%20landing1.zip You may need to update the page. Island Landing1 was my very first mission and not very comfortable yet. If you don't like this mission, try a newer mission, for example Panama Canal: https://andi20.ch/p3d/missionen/PanamaCanal/PanamaCanalV2.6.zip This one is much more interesting... By the way, all missions are now available in English. Have fun with the missions.
  6. My site is bilingual, at the top you can switch between German and English. German page: https://andi20.ch/p3d/index.html English page: https://andi20.ch/p3d/indexE.html All missions that you download from the English site are also in English!
  7. Good idea, I just did, see here: https://prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=149837 Maybe I arouse interest with the pictures with some people...
  8. Hello people I'm new to this forum, so I'll introduce myself first: My name is Jörg (aka andi20) and I live in Switzerland. I've been using flight simulators since Microsoft FS1 for C64, back then with an exhilaratingly fast 2 frames per second. Since then I have probably used all versions of the flight simulator up to and including FSX. Microsoft stopped the development and sold the Flusi to P3d, so I have been using this simulator since P3dV4. In FSX there were many interesting missions. In P3D missions (Scenarios) are called, unfortunately there are only few Scenarios. That's why I started to create my own missions for myself. Since 2018 I create missions (Scenarios) for Prepar3D and since 2019 I provide my (German language) missions to the public for free. Meanwhile there are over 30 missions, which are compatible with P3dV4, P3dV5 and P3dV6. I have tried to craft varied missions: - Sometimes you are a supplier for a dubious boss... - Sometimes you do a sightseeing flight in NewYork, or rather a time race? - Comfortable sightseeing flight in Scotland (maybe you see Nessi?) - How about a gliding flight in the Swiss Alps? Since I don't speak English, my missions were only available in German so far. In the meantime there is a very good automatic translator, so I am translating all missions into English right now. In the meantime 19 missions are translated. The installation is as simple as it is safe: Copy the files (Flight.fxml, Flight.pln, Flight.wx, Flight.xml and the Folder Flight) of a mission into the P3D storage directory: C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Files (you have to replace USERNAME with your individual name). Uninstallation : Delete the corresponding files again and everything is removed without leaving any residues. If you are interested, you can download it here: https://andi20.ch/p3d/ Have fun
