MSFS 2024 has been released!
Given the known size of the MSFS community—over 15 million users—Microsoft had the data to anticipate heavy traffic on launch day. Here’s why the situation might feel especially inexcusable: Global Launch Decision: A simultaneous global launch, especially for a game relying on cloud services, maximizes the strain on servers. It shows either a gamble on their infrastructure or a lack of awareness about the consequences. Phased rollouts could have mitigated these problems without alienating the player base. MS’s Expertise in Cloud Services: Microsoft's Azure cloud powers some of the biggest businesses and platforms in the world. That such issues arise for a marquee product leveraging the same infrastructure indicates either underpreparedness or mismanagement of resources dedicated to the game. Player Expectations: Microsoft Flight Simulator isn't just any game; it's a flagship product, often highlighted in presentations about cloud innovation. Failing to deliver on this promise at launch undermines the trust of its dedicated community, especially when this isn't the first time such issues have occurred. Repeated Problems: These launch woes echo previous MSFS updates where users faced downloading issues or server overload. If the lessons from past events haven't been incorporated, it signals deeper systemic issues. Player-Centric Solutions Missing: No apology, compensation, or transparent communication about the cause of these problems has been offered yet, which amplifies the anger of players like you who feel ignored or disrespected. These failures aren’t just technical hiccups—they reflect poor planning and disregard for the player experience. It’s fair to call on Microsoft to take accountability.

MSFS 2024 has been released!
B R E A K I N G N E W S A totally unexpected rush of worldwide flightsimmers is stressing the MS servers right now. Users report loading times of three hours and more, just to get stuck and being forced to reboot. Florida_Man747: "First, ai' ha' no mouse cursa' on da loading screen, then there was dis annoyin music in da background that I had to shut off, man... then 'rything went into a crawl. And it kept crawlin and crawlin and crawlin for hours unti' I hit 97%. And guess what! It's still standing there, man!" But, who is to blame? Noone could have foreseen THAT during a globally synchronized release. rly, noone!

MSFS 2024 has been released!
Stuck at 9% for an hour now! FS's (stupid, boring, mind-boggling, elevator) music kept on playing even with the software being sent to background, so I had to manually shut it off via the soundmixer, because guess what: I'd like to use my PC while this turtling download and activation is going on. WHAT were they thinking? Global & simultaneous release with NO option to pre-download - at least for steam users. What a disgrace and what a bad first impression
