So I won't step climb if it's not scheduled in the F-PLAN in a narrow body generally, since it's very easy to exceed the MLW in some heavy load flight scenario, then I'll have to descend sooner to burn the fuel I saved, so that doesn't make any sense in most of the time.
But when comes to wide body, it's something completely different, 'cause I won't use all the capability of the plane in most of my wide body flight, so even if I step climbed to save some fuel , it won't exceed the MLW, but this caused bias against the F-PLAN, so I don't know if it's right to do so.
