Would you use a fully voice-controlled checklist tool?
The full checklist bundle for the MADDOG (MD-81/82/83/87/88) is now available – covering Normal, Abnormal & Emergency Procedures. Check it out if you haven’t seen it yet! The question regarding hotkey control hasn’t been addressed yet: Yes, it is possible to control checklists via keyboard shortcuts. These act as actions and mirror the voice commands. In practice, you can press keys instead of speaking – but it’s not really recommended, since the core of the software is voice input. Just give it a try. The way to use the hotkeys is explained explicitly in the included manual.

Thanks for your feedback! I will prepare a bundle that covers the different MD-80 variants, not just the MD-82. This will include the MD-81, MD-82, MD-83, MD-87 and MD-88, so you can directly choose the version you are flying. JD has kindly allowed me to use his checklist as inspiration, but I’ll also enrich it with information from official sources, adding Abnormals and Emergency checklist sections.

Would you use a fully voice-controlled checklist tool?
I am currently creating new checklists based on user requests. If anyone has a specific aircraft they would like to see, I’d be happy to make it – I have my own tools for this and can usually prepare them quite quickly. There are already some Boeing checklists available, but of course some key ones are still missing, such as the 747 and others. But the 777 and 737 are already available as separate bundles for download on FlightSim.to. If you’d like to request more, just drop me a line at [email protected].

I have to agree with you – the digital voices don’t sound great. Unfortunately, I haven’t found any other free voices so far that could be used as an alternative.

In the additional 737 bundle (separate download on flightsim.to), you will find several different 737 models. You can choose your preferred one as a checklist and directly select it at startup. If you like, you can also enable Expert Mode, which allows you to completely replace the beginner-style predefined responses with your own custom ones. This can be configured in the program settings. A quick look at the included short manual is very helpful, and downloading the 737 bundle is definitely recommended.

Would you use a fully voice-controlled checklist tool?
Many sim pilots have been asking for it: a proper co-pilot style checklist that is read out automatically, step by step, with callouts and responses. For some, it adds immersion and makes the cockpit feel alive, while for others it’s a great way to learn procedures without constantly looking back and forth at a written list. This kind of discussion comes up again and again – people want a program that can handle checklists purely by voice. Have you ever checked out this one? Checklist Reader – Voice Controlled Checklist Tool https://flightsim.to/file/96054/checklist-reader-voice-controlled-checklist-tool-beta-v1-0-0 It’s a standalone program that brings exactly that experience. It has two modes: Interactive mode, where you can respond to the checklist callouts yourself. Fully automatic mode, where the entire checklist is read out, including callouts and responses, hands-free. It runs quietly in the background alongside your simulator, and there are already several checklist bundles available for the most popular aircraft. Until such features are built into simulators directly, this seems like a solid alternative. Would you give it a try?
