  1. In my FSX days (which was quite a few years ago, because I switched to DCS and other Sims before coming back to MSFS 2020) I remember I had an Add-on which added a Follow Me car / bus. It was there instead of the artificial markers on the taxiways and it adjusted its speed (to some extend) to how fast you were taxiing. I wonder if someone saw a mod or Add-on for MSFS 2020 which does the same?
  2. Hi, Do you know about some free or donation ware aircraft, scenery, tools or other add-ons that in your opinion is a must have for us simmers? To start I will recommend SimToolkitPro that is now available as an Alpha release for FSX, P3d v3/v4 and X-plane 10/11 SimToolkitPro have or will have the following features: (Copy from http://fstoolkit.xyligo.co.uk/) Landing Reporting Centreline Deviation Descent Rate Charts Touchdown Speed and Rate Stopping Distances from Touchdown Approach Practice System Setup and Practiced an approach at any runway in world Straight In Finals Base Approaches Downwind Approaches Vectored/Intercept Approaches All fully customisable leg lengths, speeds and altitudes Configure your aircraft automatically from the UI Scenarios Practice some prebuilt scenarios such as the tricky Innsbruck DME approach, the Checkerboard Approach to Kai Tak or the infamous Maderia landing Create your own and share them Scenery Manager Manage scenery and load order for scenery files in FSX/P3D and X-Plane Live Map Live mapping and tracking of flights Streaming Tools Landing rate announcer bot (will have more features in future) Streaming outputs for OBS with live flight data Failures System Randomised and planned failures system
  3. Hi, I've just rebuilt a clean machine. Am running P3Dv3 under Win 10. Have loaded RXP GNS430 very early in build sequence - not much else on. Downloaded a fresh copy but when installed I got a SimConnect_Open failed error in the log and it wasn't working. Then went back and installed version 2.3.7 which I had working well on the previous build. Install went clean - no errors. Have Reality XP GNS V2 in the Options/Add-Ons menu and it is enabled but have no Addon option on the top menu to add/configure the RXP GNS gauge. Have loaded my old aircraft with all old config files and the units themselves work fine but the configuring menu is not available in the sim to set up and add to new aircraft. Have uninstalled and retried a couple of times. Have the GTN750 to load as well and am keen to catch the bug before I install it. Can you advise which file is the most likely culprit ? reagrds PatrickF
  4. We have here a start of something new that can evolve in many ways. What should we do to most likely get what we each want? Surely much of the progress will be independent of us, but there is something we can do. My thoughts:1. We (simmers) each want somewhat different things, but there are many shared wishes also. Our likelihood to get what we want will increase if Flight is success for MS. Likelihood of Success will increase if new gamers feel welcome here and elsewhere. Sure, it's possible to think other plans, like "let's make them fail with gamers, so they have to work with simmers", but that won't work. No one would work with someone who has actively sabotaged their efforts! I don't personally believe in X-Plane or P3D either, but that's just me. 2. ANGRY/EMOTIONAL reviews and comments just make it more likely that MS concentrates on gamers. They have already selected their target audience and knowingly excluded certain features from Flight. They surely know what's missing and won't listen to someone shouting at them. (YOU wouldn't listen someone screaming at you...) 3. Putting more information on the table helps people understand each other. MS may already know quite a lot about what we need, but telling the whole story might help them see the picture even better. Personally I need some things to happen before I will spend any money on Flight because at the moment FSX is for me the platform with most of what I want. My treshold for switching gets higher with every add-on I buy. Spending my limited budget on two platforms is something I would like to avoid. I have told them what I need to switch and my reasons. Now it's up to them to decide whether they want my money or not. 4. Helping them see that there are options to get us what we want and also get them what they want at the same time will help all. For example TrackIR support should be pretty simple to implement and would probably help in calming down forums and so maybe help them succeed with gamers. Another example would be 3rd party add-ons/dlc. I am sure gamers will want many same add-ons simmers want. MS and 3rd party developers just need to find a solution that works for all. I am pretty sure there is motivation on both sides as "Flight & pure MS dlc + FSX & 3rd party add-ons" will be bad for both (FSX add-on sales will likely go down and MS would benefit from free slice of every dlc sales + this could make many simmers switch to Flight and buy dlc created by MS). 5. I am pretty sure many Gamers follow other ("more knowledgeable") gamers and some of the high influence gamers will be following what simmers say (shen they say something worth listening). Find a way to sell MS that reasoning and we will get what we want... 6. In case someone from MS is reading this: You could be more open with your communication. There is no fear of serious competition and more info would help you gain world dominance faster and more easily: many simmers would likely start supporting Flight as soon as we know some missing stuff will be there within a year or so. I understand negotiations with 3rd parties might be ongoing, but I believe more info would help us get pretty soon into situation where no one questions what will be THE platform of the future. (Even LM might want to reconsider P3D platform as there might not be that many new FSX/P3D add-ons in the future... not that LM would depend on add-ons, but many of their customers might question their arguments when schoolboys have "higher end" stuff they have for a lot less money). Just my two hours of typing ;-) threedee BTW: Not all simmers frequent forums, but extraordinary situations demand extraordinary solutions :-P
  5. Ok, I'm sure this topic has been posted before i just cant seem to find it. I have downloaded and added a number of third party scenery offerings over time with really no issues, however, lately I have encountered two separate new 3rd part airport scenery paks I downloaded, that "AI Flight Planner" has eventually identified, but FSX-SE has not. I have tried everything I know and FSX-SE still do not show these airports in the (FREE FLIGHT - SELECT AIRPORT) window. I actually viewed and edited each of these airport files in AFCAD and saved successfully. AI Flight Planner see's them, FSX-SE does not!! I know this fix is simple and right in front of me , but, I DO NOT SEE IT! HELP!! Thank you in advance, sws56
  6. Hey, everyone. I’ve been flying a lot with pmdg 737 and 777 and I liked these very much. But I was wondering if there are any other developers of high quality plane add-ons like pmdg. Do you know any?
  7. Hi ! I was wondering why I have a "double" ILS on my LNM map... This LFPO is an add-on airport (by Jetstream Designs). When excluding path of the add-on, all works (this airport already exists on MSFS). I don't remember having this issue on old releases of LNP (or old version of LFPO ?) Thx a lot !
