Odd ground texture problem

Hmmm, still not right. In mountains I am getting this ugly effect, pink snow (algae?? Haha..) with a  demarcation line:

When I replace my downloaded detail1.bmp with the FS9 default, it goes away, all white and even. But then grass is not crisp any more.

Can't have your cake and eat it, it seems. Does anyone have a recommended detail1.bmp file? I could keep switching between the two, depending on where I am flying (snow or not), but that's not ideal of course.
