FSX goes to Task Bar

Recommended Posts

Hello.
I have developed a problem. When using MCE along with PFE as I have done for a long time , when I am taxing to the runway, following the nice verbal directions from the PFE  taxi guide feature.
when I reach the holding point and am told to contact tower,FSX  goes
to the task bar,and I am looking at the desk top. It has never done this before. If I don't use MCE,all is well. and everything continues on as normal, but with MCE active,
I get this "crash" to the task bar.  I have installed new graphics and
sound drivers, and re installed both MCE and PFE, but it has made no difference. Have you any idea what could be causing this?
I have been trying to figure this out all day,but I have run out of ideas. Hope you can help me.
Thanks.
Dennis

First,  if this is the wrong forum for the post above , my apologies.

The culprit in this instance was my "IndieVolume" program. I have had it for years and works fine, however with the TGS {taxi guidance system) in PFE,  it caused this problem when the voice was directed to the head set,so after directing it back to speakers, all is well again.

Just wanted to post the solution in case it's useful.

Thanks.

Dennis

It probably would have been better to have posted in the FSX/FSX-SE forum as you probably would have gotten more views and thus maybe a faster solution.  Yet, it would have been nearly impossible for one of our members to guess it was your "IndieVolume" program.  If it's not in the right forum, one of our moderators will move it to the proper forum.  I visit the forum a lot and do not recall seeing this post back in November.  Most crashes/issues can be fixed by doing a systematic investigation of the problem.  Our AVSIM CTD Guide gives you some ideas even though you don't get a crash report.

Glad you were able to find a solution.
