September 4, 200223 yr With all of the news lately, this issue is one that seems to be forgotten. Before the release of the 757, there was talk of an upgrade that would bring some of the new plane's functionality (especially FMC functionality) to the "triple 7". Has this been cancelled as well, or do you still forsee completing this upgrade at some point? I understand that you are not a charity and that the time you have to spend on projects that will not generate revenue is very limited. Considering the amount of time you put into creating these projects however, it would certainly be a nice farewell to the Fly!II community. Both the 757 and the 777 are fantastic accomplishments, and I think it is safe to say that these two products will continue to be used and appreciated for a long time to come. Andrew
September 4, 200223 yr Hello,I was also planning to post a message concerning the 777 patch.Since December 2001, the patch was announced, and I was very very impatient about this because 777 is an incredible machine... espcially concerning autopilot and FMC. SO it would be very nice to have the new features from 757 implented into the 777(enhanced FMC, autopilot... flight mode announciators like flare, rollout).I understand it's still "unpaid work", but I understood in previous message (posted in late 2001) that the patch was nearly ready, and you were just waiting because of compatibility issues with 757.As Andrew said, 777 patch would be a VERY nice farewell to the Fly!II/PMDG community because these aircrafts will continue to fly because they are the best on the market.ThanksMarcVarlamoff
September 5, 200223 yr Actually, I dont mind paying a small (up to $10) upgrade fee to get the new features....Nothing is free....You get what you paid for.Michael TanYSCB AMD Ryzen 7 3700X Nvideo 970 GTX FSX + MegaScenery
September 6, 200223 yr Well, I'm not very enthousiast for a upgrade that would not be free...But, if it's the only way to get the upgrade, I think I will use my credit card...Robert, if you read the whole post, could you give us your comments (pmdg position concerning this update...)Thank you very muchMarcVarlamoff
September 16, 200223 yr Hello, this seems to be only one of the unfinished business. Just to remind PMDG here are some points:- Patch for the triple seven- final release of the paintkit- fix for the gear problem with the 757- working SID/STAR implementation for the 757, with the adequate patch also for the 777What shall I believe now? I don't think that's the right way to treat someone, especially not your costumer. And please don't tell what hard circumstances you have. You sold products for normal prices, so why don't you guys do your homework and fix existing bugs. Yes, I say bugs, because even you at PMDG are not perfect. You made me running around in circles how many times. I did testing for days and sent an exact report to one crew member of you. Just to hear after weeks, that I don't need to be unpatient and he won't forget it. Well, what can I say, I never heared from him again. Here are some points about the 757:- VOR L and VOR R seem to be mixed up- the gear problem- FLCH extreme pitching- LAND3 lands beside the runway (heading 093, wind 90 with 5 knots)- can't move the popup CDU many times- SID/STARS freezes the sim many times- the manual has very confusing statements e.g. page 10-4 on the right side about the autopilot- VNAV mode sometimes doesn't control the right speed, won't stop accelerating- the flaps indicator is out of shape (the needle is beside the gauge!!!)- is it normal that there is no DME at ND with ILS?Maybe there is someone at PMDG who can stand tall and talk about all that. It is better to tell, what is going on than to put people on hold forever. And believe me, it really bothers if you got less free time and sit down to fly for some hours and all you can get is troubleshooting. I bought your products to have some fun and sorry for that, but it can't be my problem, if you guys don't know how to manage all. But be happy, therefore it's not your problem to manage everything on my side.Best regards
September 17, 200223 yr Careful Gerhard,This thread is dangerously close to being deleted. Demanding that PMDG provide support is frowned upon in this forum.
September 17, 200223 yr Dear Mr. X,what about if you buy a new car, pay the full price and the head lights won't work. Do you go back to the dealer and complain or do you drive just without light in the dark? Do you care about the dealer if he tells you, sorry but I'm to busy this time, maybe later I will care about your head lights?Hmmm, I don't know if that's the way it should be. At least there is a deal - you pay the demanded price and you should get what you paid for. The question now is, where demanding starts and if it is that bad.My experience is, that nobody is perfect and so are the products. But in my business the costumer have of course the right to complain and we have to meet the parts of the deal. It's not the problem of my costumer, if I got the time frame or not. Thanks for your warning anyway, it's not my intention to produce anger, but there are some points what I want to mention. If this is clever or not I don't know, but I can't be quiet anymore.Best regards and a good day
September 17, 200223 yr Gerhard,I happen to agree with you wholeheartedly. However, after having Captain Randazzo apply a thick layer of condescension on me, I proceeded to demand that they correct a very simple documentation omission. Mind you, I came across rather negatively, but I hate it when people take the rather pointless "I know you're too stupid to even come close to understanding what I'm saying" superior tone with others. It's disrespectful. Captain Randazzo was very disrespectful with me and after my riposte, my thread was deleted. Well, it's their forum. And I thought I would warn you: don't make waves--PMDG is all about the money.Cheers,Tony CriderAKA tonycrider
September 17, 200223 yr Commercial Member Tony-I am following this thread with interest.I assure all of you: We haven't forgotten. Rob will definitely reply to this as well. However, as a more "technical" guy, I can assure you that most of the issues you are complaining about, we have tried to resolve and have seen that they are due to issues with Fly!2 itself. We are all standing behind our products, that's what made us well-respected in the markets in the first place! However, I won't accept anyone saying that "PMDG is all about the money". You have no right to say that. I have time and time again helped, both as a PMDG member, as well as a developer, when there was obviously nothing to be gained, except for Fly!2 improvement.I'd respectfully ask you to refrain from continuing this thread. Thanks, Lefteris Kalamaras - Founder www.flightsimlabs.com
September 17, 200223 yr Lefteris,I appreciate your replying to this thread. I started it solely with the intention of getting some clarification on one issue, and not to start a debate over PMDG customer service issues. I just want to hear whether the 777 patch is still in the works, as no one has mentioned it lately. Unfortunately, other posters have taken the thread in directions that I did not intend :-rollAndrew
