FSX is already in the original virtu list. Is there a way to identify the Acceleration pack by itself?

I just upgraded my system to a 2500K CPU on a Z68X board which has Virtu bundled in. When I have the monitor connected to the IGP in iMode, FSX worked OK. However, after I installed FSX Accelration pack, FSX complained about the IGP for not meeting minimum requirement and aborted. Is that your experience too?CheersM Tan

I didn't disable the last access time stamp. Actually, the scenery.dat was updated when I deliberately made a change. But the time stamp of the scenery.dat remained the same while FS keeps building a new database everytime it got started. One good thing to do is to benchmark your PC to make sure that your PC is running at the optimum setting, FS tweaks aside. In my case, I thought I was until I ran 3dMark05 and found that I am way back with other people with similar components. I ended up tweaking my CPU a bit. But Coolbits really helps in squeezing the best from my video card. My FS9 startup is a bit strange lately. It always goes through the scenery indexing even though I have not touched the Scenery.cfg file. Any idea why it does that? I was pulling my hair for a whole week trying to install FSX. I got all sort of errors, read errors, write errors, access right and what have you. I even posted the DVDs back for an exchange, blaming bad DVDs. All the error messages led me to bark at the wrong tree. The real issue - the DVD drive.I was using my sole DVD drive - a DVD writer to install FSX. For some strange reason, a DVD writer isn't a good reader. When it finally dawned on me that it could be the drive, I pulled out my old DVD ROM, connected it to the machine and the whole installation went through without a glitch! I read somewhere that you can do full installation that takes up to 60G. I just installed FSX. There is no option for full installation. Did I miss something? :-roll M Tan

I couldn't get lower EICAS to show the relevant information when I click on ENG/FUEL/GEAR etc on the EICAS MCP. The display remained the same with engine information and won't respond to clicks. That's the problem I have when the engines are started from cold and dark. EICAS won't change after the engines are started.When I started with hot engines, ready to roll on the runway, lower EICAS works properly. EICAS window responded to clicks. Strange? What's the theorey here?Regards.

I read in the Computer Pilot magazine that ATI has this Crossfire that is akin to the SLI of nVidia. It makes use of a X800/900 plus a Crossfire card. I am very interested in the set up as I am a ATI user too. The problem now is waiting on a CrossFire-enabled mobo. Both ASUS and ABIT have announced one. I just downloaded the manual and it is the Operating Manual by Boeing issued on 1 April 2001! It is 964 pages. Nowhere does it mention PMDG!M TanYSCB
