December 21, 200223 yr Here is a 737 nav display from one of our 737NG's, hopefully the sim version will look something like this:1)I have a route entered from KBFI to KYKM using the Quite 1 departure.2)I have moved the display between the two FMC's3)you can see its in T/A (traffic alert ) only for tcas4)there are a few targets dispyed on tcas5)I have a fix entered as KSEA ,with the runway headings 340 and 1606)And I have the terrain mode turned on.7)Adf tuned to 1490, a good radio station to listen to while working in the cockpit.
December 21, 200223 yr Great photo Wallace. All is possible but we can pretty much forget about radar returns. ;-)Michael J. Michael J.
December 21, 200223 yr Im not worried about there being no weather radar in the sim version, if there is as much functionality as the pic 767 as far as systems integration and a fabulous autopilot(non fs2002 autopilot please) and fully functional FMC as far as practical ,I would be happy. In the above picture ,those are not weather radar returns ,its the terrain projection data thats built into the fmc software that displays 180 degree's abeam of the flight path.
December 21, 200223 yr >its the terrain projection data >thats built into the fmc software that displays 180 degree's >abeam of the flight path. Hmm.. ok, sorry. Well - terrain projection data may be possible but I think it would be a huge stretch to expect it in this product.Michael J. Michael J.
December 21, 200223 yr Michael, Im not expecting all these features, I was just trying to show some of the features possible on the real 737NG. As with all sim related products some things are not possible within the context of fs2002 itself.Im sure your version will be exceptional and I am looking forward to it.The pictures posted of the displays look excellent.
December 21, 200223 yr You are right on Wkzzo, You bet PMDG can do much more than we had when PIC was developed! There are limitations to be sure, but there is also room for IMPROVEMENT for those systems already in use, FMC, A/P TCAS, etc. Lets hope PMDG goes that extra step and establish their product as the new standard of simulated jet in Fs2002.
