February 4, 200323 yr Hello,I upgraded to a new computer that can handle FlyII recently and I am having a probelm with the PMDG 777. After the aircraft is loaded the PFD and the ND do not display correctly (see image), no. 1 engine is running, no. 2 enigine is shutting down, and nothing, including the "E" key, will get it running again. My FlyII installation was patched to 210 prior to the 777 installation and I applied the 240 patch after installation. These problems existed prior to the 240 patch. System details include a PIV 2.4gig processor, XP Pro, 1gig RAM, and I have a Fire GL 8700 64mb video card. I seem to recall reading something about this before but I cannot find it. Any help here would be appreciated. Thanks in advance,Larry Brownhttp://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3e3f331916c11fed.jpg
February 4, 200323 yr Commercial Member Larry-try deleting the aircraft *.hst files. That should fix it... Lefteris Kalamaras - Founder www.flightsimlabs.com
February 4, 200323 yr Say Lefteris, that did not seem to work. Any other ideas?Happy Flying,Larry Brown
February 5, 200323 yr I am having the same problem as Larry except I am using the 757 for Fly!2. I have updated to the latest version of fly!2 and followed the directions regarding installation of PMDG 757 for Fly!2. The enclosed photo shows my panel after turning standby power on from a cold and dark cockpit. If I load the plane right after startup (placing the default plane in quick flight), the left engine is running and the right engine spools down and I cannot get it started in addition to the condition shown in the picture. I tried deleting the *.hst files without success. Thanks for any help.
February 5, 200323 yr Commercial Member Mike & Larry,Probably a silly question, but do you guys have the IRU's selected on?the EADI will flag out unless it recieves IRU data. You didn't say so I thought I should ask.Does the 757 act normally when you select it when FLYII is up and running with another A/C and you switch to the 757? February 5, 200323 yr Paul, Not a silly question for a novice! Once I found the IRU's and set them to on, the EADI & EHSI came right up. Thank you!Mike
February 5, 200323 yr Commercial Member Mike,Glad that helped, Was going to try out your other problem but I somehow managed to damage FLY II so it won't even start, Direct X errors. :-grr Once I figure out what I screwed up I will try out the other problem if someone else doesn't figure it out first.RegardsPaul :-cool Paul Gollnick Manager Customer/Technical Support Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
February 5, 200323 yr Gosh, I feel really stupid. I guess what really got me was the shutting down of the one engine along with the wierd stuff on the PFD. So far I have had to make a number of tweaks to my fly.ini for other problems so I guess I figured this was another similar problem and my problem solving stopped right there. (I know, I know - RTM) Thank you very much.An additional note is that I believe that this all happened because my FlyII session was starting in the quick flight mode. When starting with the flight planner there is no such problem. The aircraft loads as cold and dark and everything works as expected. Also, I gotta say that this plane sure is sweet when you run it on a sufficient system with a good joystick. Thanks again PMDG!Happy Flying,Larry Brown
