March 17, 200323 yr Hey,Am I the only one who cannot see the new screenshots? I just checked out your homepage and discovered the update with the date of today, but as I followed the link, only the old pictures appeared. Maybe someone can post them here!greetings from TXLPatrick
March 17, 200323 yr Did you notice that color change on the mode control panel? It's blue like the recent birds! And a peak at the FMC ...Muhahahahaha. The 2D panels are looking better each time I look at them. The shading etc is simply stunning. CANNOT WAIT!!Best Wishes, Randy J. March 18, 200323 yr woooow! Now, with all the knobs added it becomes a great looking cockpit. Cannot wait to fly this bird with all of you. But Randy dont you think most airlines use the old MCP from honeywell with the orange digit color (dont get me wrong, it
March 18, 200323 yr No. All 737 NG MCPs have or will be replace with Collins MCPs. Here's what Wallace has said regarding this. I guess hes a F/O on the 737. "Actually the MCP numerals are now blue. The collins autopilot has just replaced the previous unit in all NG 737's. I'll post a pic when I get time. Wallace." "Its not just a color change its a whole new MCP. It has changed from honeywell to collins. Wallace."Best Wishes, Randy J. March 18, 200323 yr Thanks for the compliment Randy but Im not an FO, I work for the Boeing delivery center in seattle. I troubleshoot and fix system problems prior to deliverys, and yes the collins MCP is now the standard in all 737NG's incorporating the autothrottle within the FCC instead of a seperate A/T computer(smiths).
March 18, 200323 yr Wallace,What operators apart from Easyjet have taken the option of upgrading their 737 NG fleet to full CAT3B Autoland Status - No Decision Height/75 Meters Runway Visual Range - ?Believe this has something to do with the installation of a 3rd NAV Box/Receiver.Is there any other mods for this, and can it be fitted to aircraft previously delivered without this capability.Mark
March 18, 200323 yr The easyjets where the first, and that is part of the new autopilot package also .Before the easyjets delivered they where actually changed back to CAT3A status, I dont know the full story on why that had to happen, possibly not certified by the euro agencies yet. Anything can be retrofitted to previous NG's its all up to what the airline wants or requires. I was not on those actual aircraft ,so as far as what other equipment went along with that Im not sure.
March 18, 200323 yr Sorry about that Wallace. Well your position makes you even more in the know. Sounds like a awesome job. Best Wishes, Randy J. March 19, 200323 yr No problem Randy, your right It is a great job. I just hope the airlines can rebound soon. If it wasn't for Ryan Air and alot of the Chinese deliverys lately we would be in serious trouble here.Even though Easyjet went with the other guys, they are still taking delivery of the jets they had on order prior to going the other route. The people I met from Easyjet seem like a great bunch of people though, would love to have their business back again someday.
