March 24, 200323 yr Sweet :D :D :DHehe one more question :(Will it have Airstairs? And I can't wait for it!!/Tobias
March 24, 200323 yr It's a beauty, but the -600 is called "the pig" around SAS pilots, that flies md-80, md-90 , etc :D The -600 has an stabalizing problem in turbulence, it is due to wings are longer then the airframe. And it goes from side to side, and its not compenseded with the yaw, this is not a big problem with longer 737. Many critisized SAS when they orded the -600 series, but SAS (as launch costumer) got deal with Boeing they could not say no too, is the word from SAS officials. Well, this was a bit of topic. But it is about the 737NG!
March 25, 200323 yr Commercial Member Airstairs: yup! Those airlines that use em, will have em! :-jumpyVin ScimonePMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.vinscimone.com/dancnkid.gif Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
March 25, 200323 yr >It's a beauty, but the -600 is called "the pig" around SAS >pilots, that flies md-80, md-90 , etc :D >If you compere 737 to MD-80/90 its a more piggish look than the sleek MD-80/90, I agree.;-) Regards,Johan
March 25, 200323 yr Commercial Member Geir-Hahah! Great info... Mostly bogus, I'd be willing to bet.... I've heard the same story distributed about the 777-200, (wingspan too long- body too short- yaw damp can't control it) the A-318 (tail too short body too short), the A330-200 (wings too long tail too short) and the CL-70 (same).... ;-)After 13 years in the airline business- one things I've learned hard and fast is to believe 1/5 of what I read and NONE of what I hear. Especially if it comes from pilots, mechanics, dispatchers, customer service, catering, scheduling or anyone in management. ;-)(In other words- nobody in the business... Does that make me paranoid? hmm.... I'll have to think about that a bit...) :-lolAs far as "wiggles" go, the B-720 and the original 707 did indeed have a problem with the vertical fin being too short- so this was corrected in subsequent versions and retrofitted on existing ones. (You can see this in good pictures of the early airplanes) The engineers learned quitea a bit from that exercise- and of course modern computing has helped quite a bit since then too.... None of the engineers that *I* know would allow their work to wiggle. If they did- it would wind up getting fixed- that's the way the business works.... OH- unless there is management involved...that's a story for another post..... :-lolBut Geir- we can set your -600 up to wiggle if you'd like!Robert S. March 25, 200323 yr >>But Geir- we can set your -600 up to wiggle if you'd like! >Yes, that would be great :(I have flown -600 many times and haven't noticed it yet, but i haven't been in it when its bad wheather. Also with -600 its the same problem as the rest of the 737'es, too much noice in the cockpit, so SAS have spent a lot of efort to get the best headset for the pilots because the sit so close to the air-intake.This must be ture, or? :D
