Does your 737 drain fuel whilst the A.P.U. is online?

Hi PMDG team, first of all i would like to congratulate on the good work you are doing. Secondly i would like to as if you if you are implementing the system i mentioned i n the subject thread? Well till now thanks again and keep up the good work :)Yours Luke Bowerman

I dont know much about the APU system apart from the fact that they are used to generate electricity and engine start-up.Didnt know they drained fuel. But now that I think about it, they would, lol.Would be kool to have all these effects. Im sure PMDG have done their best. Not everything can be modeled in FS.Cheers,Ryan

Hello, Well as a previous PMDG customer, I can say that they try to include everything possible and to make it as realistic as possible. With this in mind, I think they will include that!

I think it's possible with adding a third engine to flight model but it's side effect may be terrible. I mean think a third engine wich will run at always idle thrust when apu is run and drain fuel but since the msfs idle thrus fuel flow on ground very high, 3 or 4 times higher than real apu. It will also effect drag and flight performance so it is not a good trade..Other idea is simulating a fuel leak for apu fuel flow, may be fuel jettision feature can do the trick but it's up to PMDG becasue it is not sound good to me either..

Gents-On of the things that we are very careful about at PMDG is "tricking" that produces unwanted side effects. If there are conventional and sound programming practices that will produce a desired result, it is always better to use them, even if it would be easier and quicker to go with a "trick" method.Currently the APU is set up to deplete fuel at realistic rates based on whether or not you are running the APU electrics, pneumatics, just the APU or some combination thereof...Lefteris has the fuel decrement process on his plate at the moment, but I haven't had a chance to see if he has completed it yet. (his plate is rather full, you see!) :-cool
