June 13, 200322 yr Hi Randy,Do you know what the ND looks like if you just select the VOR/DME GPS-B into KMSO ? (Without programming it yourself) I'm not up on the terminology.Regards,Paul
June 14, 200322 yr I will post some pictures for Lefteris to see the turns and dme arcs also I will get some from real life ND precision and non precision approaches from our 737 tomorrow.Stavros
June 14, 200322 yr 767PIC does not have the ability to draw clean arc's. the only way to get accurcy in turns and arc's is to fill it with waypoints. All the SID/STARS, ILS/VOR-approaches we download for 767PIC has got turns and arc's that is filled with waypoints. This is not how it is in the real aircraft. In the real aircraft it is "hard-coded" turns and ARC's that follows the published Aerodrome chart procedures. This turns and ARC's is not possible to change directly from he FMC because they are hard coded in the navigational database software that is sent to the 767's FMCRoar Andre Nicolaisen
June 14, 200322 yr Roar, sure it will display a procedure turn or a DME arc approach if it is in the nav database, but you can program your own ARCS ,RNAV DME and any other procedure manually in the real aircraft if its not in the database ,such as the one in my previous thread(PBD waypoints). Not all airline nav data bases have every DP and STAR, So as a pilot its up to you to learn how to program procedures manually.
June 14, 200322 yr Commercial Member Stavro-don't get me wrong ;-). I know what a precision / non-precision approach looks like.I am just curious (and so far, noone has shown me different) if PIC767 draws them on the ND (without hand-editing of course), along with their procedure turn or DME ARC.Lefteris Lefteris Kalamaras - Founder www.flightsimlabs.com
June 14, 200322 yr Wallace, yes, but the procedures that you create by yourself from the FMC will consists of waypoints. you cannot create a DME ARC in the FMC without being faked by a lots of waypoints. Anyway, the SID and STAR procedures that is stored in the navdatabase of Dreamfleet 737 are not accurat at ALL! It does not have any kind of precision in turns ore ARC's. Flying a SID with lots of turnes using the FMC and ND in Df734 is one large joke!(no efence Dremfleet) forinstance, if a published SID calls for a 180 degree turn at som point, the FMC of DF734 will only use one waypoint to initate the turn and then send a complite straight line to the next waypoint. This is not good at all. It makes the aircraft fly the procedure wrong and if a ATC service where avilable, it would have had to give you vectors in order to stay on SID track.Roar Andre Nicolaisen
June 14, 200322 yr I wouldn't call it faking it, because its a real procedure. you can either make an arc with waypoints or use the fix page and draw the correct arc with a /20 for instance and draw a 20 DME circle and follow it with HDG select if LNAV is to abrupt.I dont have the dreamfleet 737 so I can't comment on it, but I can say that PIC767 flies these type of procedures Fairly well.
June 14, 200322 yr Wallace, yes. After trying DF734 i was impressed by 767PIC, it draws procedures very vell. I am hoping that the FMC and ND of PMDG's 737 will impress me even futher.Roar
June 17, 200322 yr Lefteris, have i understood you right.. Will it be possible to wright your own SID and STAR procedures in the FMC(737NG)? Can you foraxample tell it to turn in a heading that calls for a 180 degree turn and then a turn ARC will be displayed on the ND?(sorry if this have been issued earlier, i just haven't got been able to understand it all)BEAUTIFUL WORK ON THAT 737! it will truly be a good addon!Roar Andre Nicolaisen ;-)
