June 12, 200322 yr hi! Just wondered, will the FMC in the 737NG(PMDG) do prcedure turns? And will forexample you see a nice curved ARC on a turn in a SID(On the ND)? How about DME ARC's? Will they be filled with waypoints ore is it at "clean arc" that is shown on the ND?Greetings! :-)

June 12, 200322 yr I havent even used the product but can tell you that the the user will be able to decide what info(NDB'S,APT'S,FIXES ETC) is displayed on the ARC.As for curved lines,I recall lefteris saying he was indeed working on it. But as far as I am aware for Boeing's, it depends on what mileage you have set, I think its below 40 but am probably wrong. As for procedure turns, these can be programmed into the FMS... at least in PIC767 anyway and I'm assuming from reading this forum everyday that this is the next pic ;)RegardsJohnhttp://www.bavirtual.co.uk 650Hours ;)P 2.53 GHZ512 RAMWINXPGFORCE 4 128MB Ti4600http://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg
June 12, 200322 yr Ok, thanks.. I just wondered because i am so tired of the ND on the Dreamfleet 737, it shows no arc's ore curvs at all, just straight lines. 767PIC has got a very good ND with bended turns and turn arc's. But as i have seen when sitting in a jumpseat of the real 737NG, perfect bended arc's and turns on the ND is to be expected if the 737 Navigational Display was to be simulated 100%. The real ND of a 737NG has the ability of having the same arc's visibal as it is displayed on Aerodrome charts.Regards! Roar Andre Nicolisen :-)
June 12, 200322 yr {we cannot add DMEs/Rounded Legs, only choose them if they are present for a particular route}. This is the way the real FMC is programmed.... [h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. June 12, 200322 yr yes, so curved turns in a published SID/STAR will be visibal on the ND of the 737NG?
June 13, 200322 yr Commercial Member Gents-can someone please enlighten me on HOW I can make the 767PIC draw an ARC on the NAV Display? (or even, a Procedure Turn)Thanks, Lefteris Kalamaras - Founder www.flightsimlabs.com
June 13, 200322 yr As far as I know, 767PIC doesn't support procedure turns. But it uses curved lines (only on turns of more than 90 degrees I sometimes get straight lines, seems to be a little bug). If you don't get curved lines, something must be wrong for you.Regards, ;-)Matthias Neusinger (EDDN)
June 13, 200322 yr Yes, you have to put waypoints in the turn, but at least it is better than the FCM and ND of DF734... I simply can't wait for the 737NG by PMDG... but wonder if you will have to fill the run route with waypoints in a procedure turn in the 737NG as well..Roar Andre Nicolaisen :)
June 13, 200322 yr It all comes down to the navdata database. If you put an precision or non precision approach and you select a transition lets say a vor or an ndb thats in the course of the approach the a/c will fly the full published procedure with procedure turns. In the case of DME arcs again you select the approach in the fms and a transition that will be in this case the beginning point of the dme arc specified in the fmsStavros
June 13, 200322 yr Commercial Member Stavro-it's not a question of "if it flies the procedure".It's a question of if it DRAWS the procedure. My offer still stands: Can someone point me towards a specified transition and approach on 767PIC, so I can see it draw the arc, or procedure turn, on the Nav Display.THanks, Lefteris Kalamaras - Founder www.flightsimlabs.com
June 13, 200322 yr Well there are none included with PIC Lefteris, but you can draw DME arcs such as this.http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/16500.jpg
June 13, 200322 yr When you line select a NDB approach or VOR-DME approach to an airport doesn't the 737NG or 767 in real life show the correct procedure turn as a nice curve? If I remember correctly the PIC767 cannot do this. It just shows a jumble of lines. (I think)
June 13, 200322 yr "Great Question! This is a question that many have wondered and has been asked and discussed a few times already on the forum (search for "DME ARC"). They are certainly a lot of fun to fly and a lot of fun to program as well.Since you mention the FMC specifically we won't talk about the other methods like ROSE VOR or the FIX page.Basically you program the FMS using PBD method. For example, let's say we were flying the VOR/DME GPS-B into KMSO - Missoula, MT (I mention this because a few of us just flew this on Monday). edj.net/cgi-bin/echoplate.pl?NorthWest/MSO_vd_gB.GIFWe joined the ARC at OCEVO (which happened to be in the database) but I programmed it as a PBD waypoint by entering the following into the FMS:MSO214/16 /12000 (IAF OCEVO)MSO204/16 /12000MSO194/16 /12000MSO184/16 /12000MSO173/16 /12000 (DMFOX)MSO163/16 /9800AMSO155/13MSO155/10 /8100 (FAF STEVI)MSO155/6 /6500MSO155/1 (MAP MAJOS) MSO (for the miss)The result was a nice little DME ARC painted in MAP mode. I ended up flying it by hand though .Ian Elchitz CYWGEDIT: The other examples and the tutorial Jase posted are gold.Ian Elchitz CYWGACA301/AAL301Oakland ARTCC"[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J.
