June 17, 200322 yr I noticed with some add-on aircraft (PSS 744 and 772) that the throttle position interfers with the autothrottle response, i.e. only held to where the throttle is positioned. I'm wondering how does the 737NG handle this?, are the throttle (axis) responses disregarded to allow proper A/T control, as PSS done this with their Airbus series. Thanks Alaister Kay
June 17, 200322 yr Commercial Member Alaister-Excellent question! (it's obviously excellent, because PMDG handles this properly, of course - had this not been taken care of already, we'd not choose to respond to your question, obviously ignoring you to oblivion!)(Just kidding, gents!)Vangelis has done an amazing job with the AutoThrottle Control System. As such, there's no such interference allowed to play a role in the operation of the Auto Throttle mechanism.(Once a mechanically linked servo mechanism is introduced to a future throttle control, we'll consider the option of setting the throttle lever positions accordingly.)Cheers, Lefteris Kalamaras - Founder www.flightsimlabs.com
