Featured Replies

When selecting the PMDG 737 aircraft within MSFS2002, the get the message that FS2002 was unableto load some 3rd party software and identifies the file in the subject line above. Can't fly the plane. Any solution?GrantM

Sorry about that. The guys in the know for this particular issue are sleeping, so hang in there a bit, I know FS has this issue for other things I have installed but have not seen it in Beta. Just wanted you to know your question is not being ignored![h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smith[/h5][h6]The Next Great one? GrantFirst try renaming you fs2002.cfg file to something else. Next go into FS2002 and reset your settings (video, sound etc).If that doesn't work:Try deleting the PMDG 737 directories in Aircraft directory and then delete the PMDG directory within the main FS2002 directory. Then re-install.George

This happened to me and you are probably not running Win XP right? If so, you have to install some gdi something file. If you open the documentation that came up after you installed the software it gives you a link to a Microsoft site where you can download this file. Then you just put the file in you C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFS2002 directory or wherever you installed FS. Hope this helps.P.S. The location of the instructions isC:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFS2002PMDG737TNGDoc_sourceindex.htm then click on installation notesGood luck

No, I am running Win 2000 Pro.GrantM

Hi Grant,Per PMDG's instructions:REQUIRED INSTALLATION FOR NON-WinXP USERSOur aircraft uses GDI+, Microsoft's cutting-edge graphics deviceinterface technology available natively only in Windows XP. Suchtechnology can be made available to other Windows operating systems byvisiting the link above and installing GDI+ as per the instructionsgiven. It is preferable that the user installs the redistributable intheir Windows system folder, but they can also choose to place the GDI+DLLs in their default FS2002 installation directory, if they so choose.IMPORTANT: The 737NG Software WILL NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY without GDI+ onnon- WindowsXP operating systems. So use this link:http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release...releaseid=32738

You still need to download the GDI+ executable. Only WinXP has this support natively.BTW, the last thing you want to do is delete the PMDG dir in FS ;-) If you do that, you will lose your key if you had one. If you didn't have a key but had put in for one, you would be in trouble because the NG would be making a new 'reg key' for itself, requiring another email to PMDG support =)

Grant-you DEFINITELY need the GDI+ redistributable from Microsoft to run our aircraft on Windows operating systems OTHER than Windows XP.More information is included inside our documentation. Please follow it, and I am sure you'll enjoy our product to the fullest!

Thanks Falcon99 and Fred,The GDI was the issue, but note that MS install instructions for the GDI dll state "For Windows 2000, Windows Millennium Edition, Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 98, install gdiplus.dll into the private directory of the application not into the system directory."All is working well now.GrantM
