Hi PMDG,I'm very worried about your hardware-dependent keys system. I have 2 problems with that.Firstly, if I'm going to reinstall my Windows I have to generate a code before it, ok, but sometimes I have had to do it because my windows don't want to run for an unknown reason, so obviously I can't open my FS and generate that code.Secondly, I usually change my hardware. I have 2 PC's and I sometimes I have to put any piece of the other in this one... Or sometimes I change my Gforce 4 Ti 4400 with my other card Voodoo 3 3500 TV to use its RCA connectors for video capture. It could be a problem to generate a code each time I have to do this, isn't it?Thanks a lot,Winglet.

Hi Torben,>I mean the design, not the weard missuse of physics what matters the "reference datum position" which has to be the construction and aviational dynamic center of an aircraft, if I understand it right what I have learned by now.http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg

"Winglet",if you're so worried, would you mind reading the forum rules before posting please? Your REAL NAME is required. Thanks. As far as changing hardware on your PC is concerned: You can change anything (other than motherboard, BIOS, CPU, hard disk) and the security system won't even blink. If you reformat, you need to follow the procedures we (by now :-) ) have clearly documented about the transfer license.Hope this helps, and PLEASE write your name, so we know who we're talking to next time.

What can I do in that case? I understand why you have to put this protection system to your software (if I were you I probably do the same ;-)). But if I buy it, I don't want to accidentaly loose. ;) I hope you also understand me :-)Jorge S. "Winglet".PD1: Sorry about the name in the last post, that's some of the problems if you're writting this at the same time as you talk by phone and chat by MSN ;-), excuse me. I read the other notices in the forum finding any kind of answer to my question but not the general rules :(PD2: I'm not "*so* worried" but I have a very limited english vocabulary so writting and explaining myself it's a little difficult to me.

>Hi Torben,>>>I mean the design, not the weard missuse of physics what>matters the "reference datum position" which has to be the>construction and aviational dynamic center of an aircraft, if>I understand it right what I have learned by now.You understand wrong. The reference_datum_position has no>bearing on the flight dynamics or aircraft physics per se, it>is merely a reference point, in relation to which the>aircraft's geometry is determined. The point can be chosen>arbitrarily. For ease of use, it is advisable (but not>necessary) for an FDE designer to stick with the reference>point the Gmax model designer has chosen to build the aircraft>around.>>As to the fuel imbalance, saying that changing the number of>tank selectors from 1 to 3 'doesn't work at all' is a very>sweeping statement, if you don't know what this is actually>supposed to do. So, here goes: Changing the number of>selectors to 3 will disable the fuel selctors within FS,>ensuring it always stays on 'All'. But fuel usage is also>controlled by other parameters in the FDE and fuel gauge,>which haven't been changed. So you will observe slightly>different behaviour in the three aircraft. With the 737-600,>the change of selectors works fine, until your fuel reserves>get a bit low (somewhere between 5000 and 6000 lbs total). In>the 737-700, you'll have an uneven fuel burn from the>beginning, so you'd be better off leaving the selector at '1',>in order to enable cross-feeding. I haven't checked the>behaviour on the winglet version yet.Well, I surely dont know how PMDG programmed the fuel consumtion logic. I guess the way DF and Ariane did it doesnt work soo badly wrong, does it? But with the -600 value 3 doesnt work so good, but value 2 works better. I havent checked with the -700 version. But anyway, I see a bug here as well with the memory use and so the FPS is wrong and too heavy. Even for the customers with a hight updates system with the latest and best hardware. And somehow the trim seems weard as well that the engine gen and APU gets a silent firewarning and the fire extinguesher bottles engages in mid-flight. And when back on the ground I cannot start the engines again anymore without reloading the aircraft. I know I didnt do any wrong how I use and fly the aircraft, so without having any failure activated in the menu, there should be NO problem at all, right? These are some bugs which should never have get passed unseen through beta-phase.

As gosta correctly explains below, the reference datum can be any point you chose. What affects aerodynamics is the relative distance between positions of various force and moment generating components. I just happened to pick the one preferred by Boeing. OK with that ?E. M. Hi All,Great Product, Only one problem I have, that is my cursor flicker and flashes like crazy when I hold it over any switches or dials. The instrument work after a fashion but very flakey. The other thing was, when running the FMC tutorial, I cannot select the RXK/LXK's. The cursor changes to a mad flashing quivering state but will not select?Am I doing something wrong or is there a bug?My Sys/Config isFS2004 All settings to Min/Max. Same problem occurs.NVIDEA FX5900 ULTRADriver Detonator 45:20P4-2800 1G RAMP4G8X Asus MOBOThanks in advance for any help offered.Kind RegardsNigel

Nigel,I have practically the same system as you. I am using the 44.71 video drivers that I got off of guru3d.com. They are WHQL certified. I doubt that makes much of a difference though. I have all my sliders set to max and do not have the cursor flickering or flashing. I did suffer those symptoms after I first installed and updated the PMDG program. I exited and restarted a couple of times and I no longer have the problem. I'm only getting between 9 and 14 FPS though but the cursor is very stable. So, to answer your question, it's not a bug in the program. Perhaps your drivers need to be reinstalled or you should try out the 44.71's. My sys specs:P4 2.2 GHz w/1 gig of RDRAMIntel D850MV MBNVIDEA FX5900 Ultra w/256 megs using 44.71 driversDirectX 9.0b installedJim

Check the following in your display settings:Start Control panel Display Settings Advanced Troubleshoot (make sure the hardware acceleration slider is all the way to the right)This solved a similar problem with my machine.Andrew

>Only one problem I have, that is my cursor flicker and flashes like crazy I had this problem too when I first installed the bird. I used the "REMOVE" tool, re-installed the base-pack then SU1 and for some strange reason don't have this cursor problem anymore. Didn't change and graphics settings or indeed anything at all??!Cheers,Paulhttp://www.strontiumdog.plus.com/sbird.jpgOfficially licenced by British Airways plc for use of name and logo[p]AMD XP2800+ Barton, Gigabyte GA-7NNXP nForce2, 1Gig Crucial PC3200 DDR 400MHz, Gainward 128 MB GF4-4200, SB Audigy, 3 x WD Caviar SE[/p]
