Locking my thread.

Featured Replies

I see my thread on cockpit lighting was locked, despite the overwhelming "neutral" tone of the thread. You have really made me rethink the worth of my purchase if that is your attitude. You should know change the thread "PMDG Forum Guidelines 07MAR03" , number 6, "You are welcome to offer *your* opinion freely! While we certainly enjoy hearing that our customers enjoy the user of our products- we do not discourage postings that bring our attention to deficiencies or problems. Just remember to be courteous and we will do our best to help you!" That policy has obviously changed.Joe Lorenc

First of all Joe, how many posts do we need to read to get the point? The simple truth is that this will not be addressed for this up comming patch, there are far greater concerns than some who say "I cannot fly at night with the flood light on". Just because one states what they desire, does not mean that PMDG should jump right on it. I can fly just fine with or without it. Would I welcome a change down the road? sure, why not just ask if we can maybe see a change for phase II? or III? I personaly like the flood lighting, it would also be nice to have a dimmed light for night flying, give them a chance to work out the other issues first, then we can deal with lighting etc. As to the locked thread, I don't see how you can express your feelings here and think that Lefteris has no right to express his? Maybe you should try posting in the PSS forum, at least there they review EACH post before they LET it on their forums. I think you have much freedom here.[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. Voicing one's opinion by locking a thread hardly fits with the general tone of this forum. Look at the additional threads mentioning the lighting already - it may never be addressed, but that doesn't mean it is not an issue that is important to some.By locking the thread PMDG is preventing, or at least disuading others from voicing a similar opinion. If that is their goal then they may as well review and approve all threads - not all that much different IMHO. Is this an earth shattering bug - no, didn't think it had to be to warrant discussion. Moot point though since Lefteris made his "opinion" known pretty bluntly. OK, I'm done with it now. Joe Lorenc

I gotta go with Lefteris here - those early pics with the blueish hue are in no way better than what we got in the release version. I also think they should focus on fixing the big showstopper bugs like the fuel, VNAV, FMC INTC, memory usage, and adding the more important features like FMC transitions and DES NOW before they start working on panel aesthetics... What I will agree with you on is that basic system functionality that should be in the 600/700 should be added at no charge, not as part of the 800/900 package. Even if they do decide to wait until the 800/900 to code stuff like FMC transitions, they should patch the 600/700 again to include those features. I don't think I should have to pay again just to get system features that were advertised and that products like PIC and PSS already have. (this is NOT including the TCAS, since they already said prerelease that wouldn't come until the 800/900 which I was fine with) The FMC transitions are really my biggest issue, I have no idea how that didn't get included as it's fundamental to getting a lot of USA DPs and STARs to function correctly...Ryan
