July 14, 200322 yr I was wondering if the cargo/service doors opened on the aircraft? When walking around in virtual mode, it appears that the doors should open, I just can't seem to do it. shift-E works fine for the the front door...and usually hitting 2,3 or 4 after that would open cargo or service doors (on other FS aircraft) - shift-T or shift-F also do not work. Anyone have any [email protected]
July 14, 200322 yr Commercial Member They should open with Shift_E_2VinPMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.vinscimone.com/dancnkid.gif Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
July 15, 200322 yr Hi Vin,It still doesn't open the doors. If I press Shift_E_2 all together or if I do Shift_E then 2 - still doesn't work. In fact, if I do Shift_E_2, that just brings up the main panel window. I then have to close that, go back to the cockpit and from the menu, click display main panel to get it back. I haven't done anything weird with my key assignments - except to setup the air stairs. Not sure if anyone else has this problem...sorry to whine :-violinThanks!Chris [email protected]
July 15, 200322 yr I also have not been able to get cargo doors to open. Tonight Ill try with every PMDG NG that I have.Tim
July 15, 200322 yr Change the door assignment from Shift + E to D, makes life easier ;) Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers
July 15, 200322 yr Didnt know the cargo doors could be opened. Can you open the the cabin doors on both sides of the aircraft? I think that would make it much more realistic. Since not all airpots have gates to open the left doors, lol.Cheers,Ryan
July 15, 200322 yr Really? So you have to deplane off the left side of the plane? What airports are you talking about?
July 15, 200322 yr Thanks John -I'll give that a try tonight. Are you saying change the assignment to Shift_D then press 2? Or Shift_D_2?It sounds like you got this to work...Thanks!Chris [email protected]
July 15, 200322 yr If you re-assign the command to for instance D, you do not have to press shift at all. D will open the 1st doors, D+2 will open the second (if available) and so on. For the same reason I have changed the pushback to P instead of shift+P. This makes it easier to select P+1, or P+2 to have a turning pushback. I use shft+p for Pause. /Tord Hoppe, Sweden
July 15, 200322 yr Commercial Member you are switching cockpit views because you are using the key commands incorrectly. (MSFS is picky). You need to hold down shift and press E, the release shift, and press 2 (in rapid succession).Try that and let us know.VinPMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.vinscimone.com/dancnkid.gif Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
July 15, 200322 yr Ok - I'll try some of the things recommended here and try not to fat finger it this time! *:-*Thanks Vin and others for answering a simple question when there are so many more important things that you are working on!Chris [email protected]
July 16, 200322 yr Ok - once again, I tried it. I changed my key assignments from Shift_E to D. Pressing D+2 or D then 2 - still does not work. I've tried all different combinations. Pressing it together, one right afer another, etc, etc. I've never had any problems using that combination of keys before, so I don't know why it's giving me trouble now...Chris [email protected]
July 16, 200322 yr Commercial Member Chris,Are you having problems with non-pmdg aircraft, or just the 737NG?VinPMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.vinscimone.com/dancnkid.gif Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
July 16, 200322 yr Unfortunately, just the 737NG. I didn't want to make a big stink about it, but it is a little curious. I just tried on another aircraft (IFDG 767) and was able to use the Shift_E and then #2 key to open and close the rear cargo bay door. I can press the #2 key as fast or slow as I want and it works.I know you guys are busier with more important things - so thanks for looking at it!Chris [email protected]
