July 15, 200322 yr Moderator Klaus,I have both but haven't experienced the problem you describe. However, there is a known problem if you have the Aerosoft 747MCP. The PMDGOptions.DLL will stop communications between the 767PIC and the MCP. This can be temporarily overcome by moving the DLL out of the Modules folder.Try moving this DLL to another folder and see if it overcomes your problem.Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). July 15, 200322 yr hi ray...i got a huge crises :-)i tried your tip but it won t work...i figured out that FS 2002 will crash on every selected aircraft (DF 734, PIC767,Phoenix...) but only the 737 of PMDG won t cause a FS crash... ahhhhhrggggggggg...i think have to post another to PMDG stuffgreets klaus
July 15, 200322 yr Moderator Claus,Just try loading a default aircraft - Cessna, Boeing 737, Learjet before you do anything else. No-one else has reported this type of problem so it has to be specific to your system. If a default aircraft loads okay then things are not as bad as they seem.In the meantime move the PMDGOptions.DLL back into the MODULES folder. Report back when you have some news.Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). July 16, 200322 yr hi ray...me and pmdg figured out, that they have a bug when starting a flight with a 737 and then switch to another aircraft, pic for example, so the crashes aren t due to my system configs.they try to solve this bug in their next and first :-) patch...cause it couldn t be the sense of this really nice product, that you can t start witch 737 and after chosing another fs will die to desktop :-)greets klaus

July 16, 200322 yr Try deleting FS2002.cfg. Restoring your settings is a little bit annoying, but it helped in my case.I had a similar problem:FS2K2 always crashed with other aircrafts than the 737NG as soon as I had been connected to the IVAO-server for Online-flying.
July 16, 200322 yr Moderator Don't delete the FS2002.CFG - it means you have to reset all your preferences. The best way to avoid the problem is to load the start-up screen from where you can choose the departure airport, aircraft and time of day.Open FS2002.CFG, find the STARTUP section and make this change...SHOW_OPENING_SCREEN=1Save and then load FS2002. I've never encountered the desktop crash by using this method. You can also choose any saved flight from this screen but don't choose the one that is causing the problem.Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). July 16, 200322 yr hi ray, morning ....my fs is starting with the opening screen, but the faulty thing was, that there was a pmdg 737 situation saved :-). that causes the crash due to something was load in the memory or whatever and not deleted from the memory when changing the aircraft. now i have the pic 767 and i can fly without a dieing fs.i only got also crashes, when i fly the pmdg and then switching to another. but this bug is known by pmdg stuff and they will fix it,hopefullyyyyyyyy..:-) :-) :-) so long klaus
July 16, 200322 yr Moderator Hi Klaus,Guten abend! I don't speak German, I had to look it up :-hah I've tried and tried and tried but I can't get FS to crash when loading various flights including PMDG ones, 767PIC ones and default ones. Maybe I just have a good machine ;-)Anyway, I'm pleased you have found a way to fly without FS crashing.Happy flying! Ray (Cheshire, England). July 17, 200322 yr Ray, Hi.Did you set the FS default flight with the PMDG 737? I think you have to do this for FS to crash. This is what happens to me. If you set FS with a default flight with a different aircraft other than the PMDG 737, then FS won't crash.Cheers.Jamie Blethyn ,UK
July 17, 200322 yr I always FS with the opening screen.THIS DID NOT HELP.I DEFINITLY NEEDED TO DELETE FS2002.CFG.And restore all settings afterwards:-((.
July 17, 200322 yr Moderator Hi Jamie,No, I have a 767PIC flight setup as my default but in any case I always have the Opening Screen displayed on startup so I can choose a flight or setup a new one. Hence the lack of crashes but I'll take your word that it happens as I don't particularly want to cause one ;-)Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). July 17, 200322 yr Moderator <>No you don't. Open FS2002.CFG and find the line SITUATION= in the [uSER INTERFACE] section and delete everything in that line after the = sign. Then create a new flight and save it as the default. You keep your preferences and the sim shouldn't crash anymore.Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). July 17, 200322 yr That's a good idea Ray, i think i'll change the settings so that the opening screen appears on startup....Cheers,Jamie Blethyn, UK
