Sound problem in external views

Featured Replies

Hi,Yesterday, I downloaded the PMDG 737NG A/C and it seems great. But for some reason the sound of the engines gets "corrupt" when in external views and it seems like the problem gets worse the longer the distance to the A/C is (ie when I zoom out). When I'm in the cockpit or in the virtual cabin I have no problem with the sound?Anyone experienced this and how a good cure for it?This is my config:FS2004 running on...P4 3 GHz1 GB RAMSB Audigy 2Creative GeForce 4 Ti4800All latest drivers for the HW and the SU for PMDG 737NG applied. Also have another question (may be a dumb one since I'm far from an expert on all this) but when I downloaded all the files that should go in the SIDSTARS directory I noticed that ESSA (Arlanda) wasn't there - shouldn't it be? Especially since it's one of the bigger airports in Scandinavia and definitly bigger than ESSB (Bromma) that was among the files.TIA,Richard

Richard, two things to try. First, are you using the latest Creative Audigy drivers? If you're not, installing the latest set should help. Second, if your sound settings within FS is set to it's highest setting, backing down to mid range has been reported to be the sweet spot. Let me know if any of these help.:-spacecraft

Hi Richard...A few things you should check:1) The SB Audigy has had some issues and many mother board manufacturers have issued a BIOS flash upgrade to fix these problems. Check with your mother board manufacturer or Computer Vender (for example, I know Dell has a BIOS upgrade specifically addressing the Audigy series of sound cards)2) Looks like you already updated your drivers for your Audio Card, but just double check the appropriate web site for patches and drivers3) Make sure you have the latest version of DirectX installed.4) If all else fails, run DXDIAG and reduce your sound acceleration from full to basic.Hope it works out... Thanks for your tips, I'll try them out one by one and see what happens. Will also doublecheck that I have the latest version of both the drivers for my Audigy but also the latest BIOS version. All the best and thanks for getting back to me so quick,Richard
