Will not work in FS2002

Featured Replies

On splash screen says it cant find Scenerymagdec.bgl I looked and it is there. I noticed another post about this but I have tried everything they tried. My problem is when the error comes up it doesn't show the whole file it is looking for just what I have above. This is sad, I bought this thing and can't get it to work. Any other suggestions? I have installed it with all the correct markers marked, I noticed that it try to install to fS9 even though I installed to FS2002, I removed that from the line so it wouldn't add another file to my fS2002. Am I supposed to let it install with the last adding a fS9 file? Thanks,The BugmanJackson, Tennesseehttp://jdtllc.com/images/RCsupporter.jpg

Hello, Please sign your name on this forum if you desire any help ;) Sounds like your registry entry for FS2002's EXE has changed. Please see if this works for you. I thought that this issue was delt with in the SU patches, strange that you still have it, oh well try this..""""" Tim W Fri Jul-25-03 10:45 PMMember since Mar 13th 2002275 posts #10851, "RE: Mag var on both FS2002 and FS9..."In response to Reply # 2 I know what this is, it happened to me. The FS9 install has probably screwed your registry entry for FS2002. Open up regedit and go toHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMICROSOFTMICROSOFT GAMESFLIGHT SIMULATOR8.0On the right side under EXE path make sure it reads the correct location for your FS2002, If not, right click on EXE path, choose "modify" and enter the correct location. This fixed the problem for me.regardsTim"""""[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Thanks for your help but need help again, where would I find thatHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMICROSOFTMICROSOFT GAMESFLIGHT SIMULATOR8.0Not much on the inside of the pc and wouldn't know where to look. Thanks again, David HawleyJackson, Tennessee

Go to START/RUN and type REGEDIT. There look and you will see HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE with a little + sign, just click down the line following -SOFTWAREMICROSOFTMICROSOFT GAMESFLIGHT SIMULATOR8.0. [h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smithhttp://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/196432/winglets_lg.jpg

Randy,Thanks for the quick reply found it but no bannanas. So I removed it all with remove tool and reinstalled. Changed as suggested in registry. Booted up without SU1 and it worked, but then when I loaded plane it tells me I only have ten days to use product. OUch!Ok remove again with remove tool reinstalled base, then SU1 get an error code about Fusic whatever you all that thing and then I go to registry and find fs2002 and FS8 there. Double click my fs2002 icon and get now an error code that says it can't find the FS2002 registry.Sooo thought I would go to registry and add in fs8 the fs2002 direction for exe. to fs2002 no way won't let me do it.I a beginning to think I am not goint to be able to use this bird with fs2002. I am running XP home, and have the registered fsuicip (or whatever you call that thing). Any thoughts?David HawleyJackson, Tennesseehttp://jdtllc.com/images/RCsupporter.jpg

Very Easy to get moved off of here is there not any product support cant get this thing to work in fS2002 please what am I to do. No post covers this problem other than me getting my money back. I rather have the bird to fly but if it is not going to work I rather have my 39.95 backDAvid

Ok Dave, It's working without SU1-1? Hum, can you re-download SU1-1 herehttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/downloads/...ation_SU1-1.ZIPMake sure that the PATH is correct. You must not only PIONT to FS2002, you must also TYPE IT OUT or REMOVE the FS9 part of the path. Look at the screenshot. Each time you are asked do this. http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/44633.jpg[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smithhttp://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/196432/winglets_lg.jpg

Randy, It works without the patch but it says I only have ten days to use it. I did remove the FS9 part from the path it choses all times. Even when I installed the SU1 patch I remove it. So this is what I have:Base package installed works but only gives me 10 days to use, says it's not registered.Install SU1: Creates a FS8 in my registry tree, when I try to bring up FS2002 I get and error message that cannot find FS2002 in directory tree.I have re-read all the post. Maybe one other problem I may have not mentioned, I have it installed in FS9 on my machine different part of hard drive (ie. FS9 on F drive, FS2002 on E drive). Maybe it won't work for both? Thanks again,DAvid

DavidI'll chip in here ;-)>Install SU1: Creates a FS8 in my registry tree, when I try to>bring up FS2002 I get and error message that cannot find>FS2002 in directory tree. Can you post a screen shot of what you see in your registry tree (Alt+Print Screen and Paste into any paint program of your choice) and please provide the complete error message you get when trying to start FS2002?I had the NG installed on both FS9 and FS2002 without any problems so it is definitely doable.Hope it helps,

Ok here is what I get when I install base into fS2002, the registry is fine but this is what I get when I select and load the 737 up:

OkThat is all fine and dandy. Now install the full SU1.1 found here:http://www.precisionmanuals.com/downloads/...ation_SU1-1.ZIPThis is a 15Mb file. Restart the PC and start the installer and follow the guide lines provided above by Randy regarding the FS2002 path.If everything works out during the install you should not see any error messages.Restart your PC and try to start FS2002 with the NGHope it helps,

Wow, thanks for the quick reply I was trying to upload these other two pictures for you these are the registry and error message I get when I install SU1 patch.ThanksDavid

Hmmm...Ok Seems like your FS2002 registry tree could be somewhat defect. Just to rule this out though, when you installed the PMDG NG (both base and SU1.1) in FS2002 you *only* checked the options regarding FS2002 right? And vice versa? You can't install to both FS2004 and FS2002 at the same time. Maybe I'm kicking in open doors here, but better to be safe than sorry ;-)I'm bored at work right now (hence my fast replies...lol) but when I get home I will check how my registry settings look and we'll go from there. I won't be home until 1900Z or 2000Z though.Hope it helps,

Yes check all the right checks did not install at same time. Did FS9 first runs great runs awesome. I keep getting that error code about modulefusip (whatever that thing is) when I install SU1 into FS2002. I have the latetest registered module, but that keeps coming up at the end of install of SU1.ThanksDavid

DanielHere's what my FS2002 registry entry look like. You better reinstall FS2002 and try. If you have a lot of add-ons and stuff you don't want to lose, rename your current FS2002 folder to say FS2002.OLD, reinstall FS2002. Delete the newly created FS2002 and rename FS2002.OLD to FS2002. That way you only reinstall the registry, sort of. ;-)Here goes:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/44733.jpgHope it helps,
