November 6, 200322 yr Now here's someone who was just itching to get into the skies :)Don't forget to read the manual at some point - there's quite a few other goodies you'll read up on in there too!:) Howard H. "You must be the change you wish to see in the world" -Mahatma Gandhi
November 6, 200322 yr Mr. Howard-Maybe you have the solution to my problem. I must not have the manual that discusses this. Could you please point out where to get this manual and what page this is discussed on? I figured out what they are for, but I'd like to see what else is in this manual I might have missed.Thanks-Mike Smith
November 6, 200322 yr Commercial Member Hi Mike,The manual for the PMDG737NG is located on the precisionmanuals web site on the Downloads page.A direct link to the download is http://www.precisionmanuals.com/downloads/..._MANUALS_V1.ZIPVin ScimonePMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.vinscimone.com/dancnkid.gif Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
November 6, 200322 yr Vin-Thanks for the response. My SLOW connection is downloading the manual now. Could you please reference the page that the above referenced symbols are explained on?Thanks-Mike SmithPS - Am I correct that you are going to issue a new manual as a result of the Service Update? Will this be released concurrently with the update?Want to say that I really love your plane. Was a great fan of your Fly II work and I'm glad to see your attention going to MSFS! Worth every dime it cost.
November 6, 200322 yr you might want to download this manual too. it is very helpful it will walk you through a flight from KSTL-KCLT.here's the file name on AVsim737tngadvtut.zipBest Regards Adib Afraj Best Regards Adib Afraj
November 6, 200322 yr Okay, that all explains a lot. I haven't purchased the PMDG bird yet, but is there a way to make 'invisible' buttons above the PFD so as not to see the letters there?
November 6, 200322 yr Adib-Thanks for the reply. I do have this tutorial. After downloading the file referenced in the PMDG post, I see it is one I already have. My confusion has come from the post by Mr. Howard who replied to a poster inquiring about the alphabetical icons that he "must not have read the manual". Well, I have read it, or at least I thought I had been thorough, but I never came across an explanation of the symbols. Therefore, when I saw Mr. Howard's post about reading the manual I figured there might be another one (manual) out there. I've got to admit that there have been other things in manuals I didn't know were there. That's when I go for the "can't see the forest for the trees" defense. If you know where these symbols are referenced in the PMDG manual, would you please give me a page reference?Thanks-Mike Smith
November 6, 200322 yr Of course it's possible ;). But with so many buttons there, it might be a hit & miss push fest for the right window to pop up ;). This will not change officially but you are free to do what you like personally. Anyways, since PMDG do not give support for tweaking I cannot tell you on how to remove the bitmap, but will say it can be done if someone knows about panels and gauges.......................[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. November 7, 200322 yr Thanks Randy for the info. You're probably right about the number of buttons up there and their uses, I'd probaby get mixed up as well.
