November 14, 200322 yr I have noticed that sometimes when going through setting up the FMC that the departue rwys don't show up in the dep/arv page. This happens whether or not there is a sid or not. Has anyone else noticed this? Steve Reinard P8P67 Pro, i72600k @ 4.9(turbo), XSPC Rasa 750 RS360 Liquid Cooling, Thermaltake 850w PS, 16gb Crucial Vengance 1600mhz, EVGA GTX580 3gb
November 14, 200322 yr I would like to remind you sir to sign your name to your posts on this forum, it's required, thank you! You mean something like this on my SU2 FMC? http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/48555.jpg[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smithhttp://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/196432/winglets_lg.jpg Randy J Smith
November 14, 200322 yr Author Sorry for that.Yes. Take KORD where there is no SID. Going through the FMC setup when you get to the departure page there is no list of available rwys to select and thus the preflight section can't be complete because no rwy is selected for departure. It doesn't always happen though.I do have the latest AIRAC data for the PMDG FMC.Steve Reinard Steve Reinard P8P67 Pro, i72600k @ 4.9(turbo), XSPC Rasa 750 RS360 Liquid Cooling, Thermaltake 850w PS, 16gb Crucial Vengance 1600mhz, EVGA GTX580 3gb
November 14, 200322 yr Hello Again Steve, nothing to be sorry about. SU2 will change the FMC in this regard by providing many more options and KORD will have eveything that's availible sid+star wise, will not be long ;)Cheers,[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. November 15, 200322 yr Author Thanks Randy.Have you been beta testing the SU2?I have to say that the PMDG 737NG is one of the best aircrat that I have flown here yet. Can't wait for SU2.Steve Reinard Steve Reinard P8P67 Pro, i72600k @ 4.9(turbo), XSPC Rasa 750 RS360 Liquid Cooling, Thermaltake 850w PS, 16gb Crucial Vengance 1600mhz, EVGA GTX580 3gb

November 15, 200322 yr When I am not flying I am playing with pixels ;)........ How you like these lights? It's a new MCP compared to the one you are using. You will have this for SU2 also ;)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/48585.jpg[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smithhttp://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/196432/winglets_lg.jpg Randy J Smith
November 15, 200322 yr Randy,This looks GREAT! The MA light is a nice touch. Great attention to detail in the SU 2 MCP. :) One question though. Will it be possible to make the background in the display windows something other than orange?-Shaun
November 15, 200322 yr No it will not although you can change the digits themselfs and that's already streching the realism a tad us. As you can see though, the background at least now blends smooth. Thanks for compliment, this mcp has MANY new items lets see if you can notice them all:IAS KNOBC/O Button (Cross over)V/S WheelA/T ARM LIGHT & SWITCHF/D LIGHT & SWITCHA/P BAR (has yellow behind when you pull the bar down)SCREW PLACEMENTSMCP Digit's background matching And Various white borders-lines;) I am playing with the A/T Arm switch once again (perfection drives the best of us hehe). This is what I have so far, the real one looks a lot like this...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/48586.jpg[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smithhttp://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/196432/winglets_lg.jpg Randy J Smith
November 15, 200322 yr I see. I was hoping to change the background because I like the white numbers I've seen in some photos, but it just doesn't look right against an orange background. I'll stick with orange though. This is really a pretty minor thing. :)Your mention of screw placements also leads me to another question. I read that SU2 will have a TOGA button on the throttles. I've also noticed a lot of people complaining in the past about the realism factor of the screw.I really like the compromise though, and think it's probably MORE realistic than putting it on the throttle quadrant. Afterall real pilots don't have to open a window as they're turning onto the active and spooling up the engines. They just feel the button and push once they're lined up. :) Does the screw still work now that there is a TOGA on the throttles? I hope that PMDG have left the screw functional.-Shaun
November 15, 200322 yr The *white* digits you have seen are not on the Honeywell Mode Control Panel but belongs to the newer types being implemented by Collins which have a blue digit background with white digits (makes them appear bluish white). The new TOGA buttons located on the Virtual cockpit's throttle quadrant do not effect the main 2D panel's operation which is not changed and I do not except this to be changed. Realism, yes we like that word ;) but one must always have compromises in replicating reality in a limited inviorment such as the flight sim platform. It works well for me this way and those who fly this aircraft for a while will agree as have you. When does a real world Next Generation pilot use a mouse to change his MCP speed ;)...Cheers,[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smithhttp://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/196432/winglets_lg.jpg Randy J Smith
November 15, 200322 yr Hi Randy,I really like the new panel, but I have observed something, although (very) minor. It's kinda hard to see because of the dark lighting, but the viewpoint looking at the cmd/cws A/B is from the left, but if you look at the disengage buttons it looks like you are seeing them from below. This is ofcourse a very minor thing. :)Mikkel
