November 15, 200322 yr Nope, nobody knows how to autoland ;)hehe sorry couldn't resist, check out the link in Randy's post, that'll get you going.
November 15, 200322 yr I do, but whenever I try it with the PMDG 737-700 it lines up with the runway, gets on glideslope, but then it pulls the nose up until it stalls. I can't figure out whats wrong with it. Oh yeah, whenever I use this plane the AI traffic allways overshoots their appraoches. What's wrong PMDG?
November 15, 200322 yr -Sir, You need to sign your posts on this forum, than you! What version are you running? This plane does not *stall* on approach in otto because it has alpha protection (If you have setup your approach correctly. You will need to provide a screenshot and all information i.e.- what exactly you are engaging etc. [h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. November 16, 200322 yr Hey Randyi tried you suggesion for the autoland . i tried it at cape town, south africa, and i put in the ils frequency , vor frequency for the airport, the ndb, i set the course, and when i pressed the app button for final approach, nothing happened. i also had the fmc programmed.regardslyle
November 16, 200322 yr Lyle -Did you see the deviation dots on the PFD? And if so, were you above the GS, below the G/S? I take it that the LOC wasn't captured? Was your plane in level flight when you engaged APP?Sorry for the ton of questions, but that will help me answer your question =)
November 16, 200322 yr yes to all of them randy. i was 3000 ft for the glideslope engaged it and nothing. was on targetregardslylei am soooo lost
November 16, 200322 yr Please make double SURE you have the ILS tuned on BOTH NAVs. When you PUSH the APP button, the button will light up and G/S should show on the FMA (On the top area of the pilot's flight display) in WHITE meaning it is ARMED, it will not do anything until G/S captures when it will BLANK (light goes out) the APP button on the MCP and the white G/S on the FMA will turn GREEN i.e. -active. Make sure you have BOTH CMD A and B selected! [h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smithhttp://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/196432/winglets_lg.jpg Randy J Smith
November 16, 200322 yr randy i managed to get the airplane to line itself up on the runway but i dont know how to get it to control the alt. it now lines itself up on the runway, but i have to manually descend. is there anyway that i can let the plane do the descending by itself. also should i be pressing a button for the alt so that the plane controls it? cause i pressed the alt button and the plane starts climbing or it will start descending.please helpregardslyleim gettin there
November 16, 200322 yr That's what the APP button does! It takes you down all by itself. Look at this, the blue shows you the localizer (lines you up) and glide slope (takes you down) bars, the G/S should remian centered for proper angle to the runway. http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/48870.jpg[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J.
