Hey all,A few questions if you don't mind, first, what is considered to be a "normal" descent in fpm for a 737 airliner, because when I use V-NAV it doesn't go into descent mode it stays in cruise, and it descends at like 3600 then starts to go back a little to about 2500. I'm not sure, but that kind of sounds like it might be bad for passenger comfort.second, does anyone else think that the taxi lights are way too bright for 737 NG?third, is there a way to add SIDS and STARS to the FS2004 flight planner, so I can perform those with ATC following? I've read the FMC tutorial by Metzinger and I don't recall him saying how that was possible to put a SID or STAR into your FS2004 flight plan.Your help is appreciated thanks,Jeff

my thoughts...>>first, what is considered to be a "normal" descent in fpm for>a 737 airliner, because when I use V-NAV it doesn't go into>descent mode it stays in cruise, and it descends at like 3600>then starts to go back a little to about 2500. I'm not sure,>but that kind of sounds like it might be bad for passenger>comfort.Normal would be depedent on at what alt you start the descent and at what altitude the descent terminates. For example you are at 8000' (say 6k agl) and have to decend 2000', the I would expect somthing on the order of 500-800 fpm. If at FL380 and cleared to FL190 then 2500 to 3500 I suspect would be the norm. See what I mean?>>second, does anyone else think that the taxi lights are way>too bright for 737 NG?Yes, all of us do. That is why it is being addressed in Service Update 2 (SU2), a quick search on this forum for that keyword listed 51 hits in under 6 seconds (that is how I found it)>>third, is there a way to add SIDS and STARS to the FS2004>flight planner, so I can perform those with ATC following?>I've read the FMC tutorial by Metzinger and I don't recall him>saying how that was possible to put a SID or STAR into your>FS2004 flight plan.>Yes, the FS9 planner is fully capable of handling the lateral capabilities of any SID or STAR. The user must place these waypoints into the FS9 planner manually through the grapical user interface of the planner screen. The only issue you might run into is that the FS9 dataset is now approx 14 months old. If you are utilizing current information for inputting you SID/STAR, you may notice some inconsitencies. I do not understand your comment on 'ATC following' as I am unsure if you mean ATC direction or ATC flight following.>Your help is appreciated thanks,>Jeff
