December 6, 200322 yr Author thank you very much, as this helps me come to some understanding. One of the things that I have found is that the DAFIF data is very limited. This is what I was getting at earlier was that, even for the US, the FS9 approach/ma dataset appears to be much more complete.Eitherway, I suspect that with SU2 install all of this will be automated and as complete as we can expect so that is good news.Looking forward to it. December 6, 200322 yr >I'm really sorry to be a dope here, but what is the>difference between an approach and a STAR?A STAR is a route that takes you from the airway you were flying to maybe about 20 to 10 miles from the airport. An approach is the route you take, starting maybe 20 to 10 miles out, that funnels you down a path (the approach) to a landing. It usually also include the procedures (route) for the missed approach.Terry

Current cycle is 0312.The new procedures are based on the new language elements being used in the SU2 update and will be released around the same time the SU2 is released. You will also find a 15 page tutorial I wrote about designing procedures. The people at PMDG are graciously providing site space for my free 3rd party effort. Also because the new procedures now support approaches the quanity of procedures has about doubled. There are now 1684 airports with procedures. There are a lot of airports with only IAPs.Terry
