December 31, 200322 yr I hope this hasn't been covered before, but I'm having a problem with TNG. When I pause the simulation (FS9), very often one or both of my engines quit when I return. Needless to say, this can be very awkward both for my virtual passengers as well as for my flight sim self esteem!Has anyone else (a) had this or a similar engine problem, and (:( how did you fix it?Bob Jones (the shrink from Georgia, not the PMDG guy)
January 2, 200422 yr Clearly, there are some underlying feelings of hostility left in the PMDG panel. I suspect post-traumatic hard-landing stress syndrome. You and your PMDG panel should get into group therapy. There are many groups forming, mostly with PSS panels, but they'll let you in if you ask nice and show superior financial means.Try loading a default flight with a default 172, then load up the PMDG. Loading the default bird should clear/reset all the internal settings. This has worked for a number of others with odd engine shutdown issues.I'm billing you $5000 for that first paragraph.CheersBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Washington, D.C. January 2, 200422 yr I'm a proud new owner of the 737NG and I would use the default Baron 58 as a basis insteadof the 172. I found that when I used the 172, I couldn't start the right engine in a C&D flight deck unless I did the "Ctrl-E" sequence.HTH,
January 3, 200422 yr Thanks, Bob and Edwin, for your responses. I tried the 172 solution this evening and it seemed to work fine, but I'll keep the Baron suggestion in the back of my mind.I was so relieved to find this solution. I was dreading the thought of years of group sim therapy, especially when I wouldn't be able to bill for it.Thanks again guys for supporting my simming mental health.Bob Jones, Psy.D.--Make a fast friend...adopt a greyhound!--visit www.greyhoundadoption.org
January 3, 200422 yr Just a short follow-up on this and prvious threads. I am now using the default 172 at start-up and it seems to have fixed many of the problems discussed.RegardsKeith Batchelor Regards Keith B. Life is a short dash between two dates on a Tombstone
