Blurry textures when using PMDG

Featured Replies

When I change view (different cockpit views, or swithcing between spot plane, virtual cockpit, 2-d cockpit etc.) in my 737NG the textures sometimes gets very blurry. This only happens when using the 737. You can take a look at these to pictures:http://www.stud.ntnu.no/~kjorlaug/temp/Pmdg.JPGhttp://www.stud.ntnu.no/~kjorlaug/temp/Pmdg2.JPGand see the difference.I have this system:AMD XP3000+1 gig RAM9800 PROWin XPI have tried both with the latest omega and ati drivers, but it doesn`t do any difference.Any ideas?Torbj

Torbjorn, generally, changing MSFS' mip map level to a higher setting will sharpen all textures. You didn't indicate what version of FS you are using but from your pictures, I'm guessing 2K2? I no longer have that installed and don't remember where you make the adjustment but try upping your mip map level setting. If you're using FS9, the adjustment is located in the settings/display/hardware tabbed control panel. I'm not at my FS computer right now but I believe that's right.

I am using Fs2004. I have tried with different mip-map settings and also other display settings, but I don`t think that this is the problem (the textures then had to be permanent blurry). When I change views with int the 737NG the textures sometimes suddenly gets blurry, and they gets sharp after some minutes.Torbj

I think this is pretty normal. Depending on your PC it will vary in how long fs9 takes to update the display. I get it also, but it takes a couple of seconds to a minute to update the display, depending of how detailed the scenery is.Mikkel

But sometimes it can take more than five minutes to get sharp textures. This only happens with PMDG, not with other complex aircraft as Pss airbus, RFP 747, Lago F-16 etc. It did not happen with SU 1 eighter...Torbj

I have almost the same system as you (2500 OCed to 3200, 9800 Pro, 1GB) and I see nothing at all like this. I'm using the Catalyst 3.10's and have 4X AA and 8X AF on, almost all sliders maxed in 2004, the textures are perfectly sharp all the time.Ryan

First off.. the pic of the engine fans looking blurry is correct. The textures are blurry (motion blur)As far as fuselage textures not showing, my guess is that you have tweaked your CPU priority to handle cache and not programs. If this is the case switch it back to programs.VinPMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.vinscimone.com/dancnkid.gifhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/devteam.jpg
