March 8, 200422 yr Just got this product and love it. However, since I am always looking for an easier way to do things, I was wondering if there were any existing flight plans available (primarily for the US, specificaly KBOS if possible).Checked the file library here and could only find one PMDG 737 specific batch of flight plans and they were all for European flights. Thanks (in advance),John Erwin
March 8, 200422 yr You should try the flighplanning software http://www.fsbuild.com/ you can download a freeware version and a payware version. It has a lot of North American routes and an export tool for the 737NG FMC. Give it a try.Dave FisherCYYZP4 2.8 GB 478P 533 MHZ CPUP4P800S Asus Motherboard512 DDRGeforce Ti 4200/128Maxtor 80 Gig ATA 133 HDhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg

March 9, 200422 yr Some additional info on FSBuild.I just searched FSBuild FlightPlans and found 263 for KBOS.FSBuild has Database of 20,000+ ready to use Flight Plans.FSBuild Exporting formats available:FS2000/02/04 Planner (.pln)FSNavigator 3/4767PICPSS 747/777PSS A320PSS Route (Dash 8)FLY!II PlannerPMDG 777/757 for FLY!IIX-Plane 6.2+/7.1+ FMSAerowinx PS1.3 (.rou and .via option)ACS-GPSGPS98SquawkBox 2Radar Contact 2NavData/RealCrtFlightSim CommanderSSWA310PMDG 737NG 737-600/-700 for FS2002/FS2004XSquawkBoxFSBuild Importing functionImporting of Flight Plans from various formats.SquawkboxFS200x767PICPSS 747/777PSS A320PSS RoutePS1.3I am just a happy customer. March 9, 200422 yr >Fly the flight in any of aircraft and have the FSNavigator>moving map available.Ed,I've been using FSNavigator for a few years then recently purchased FSBuild. I thought of them as competing products, but it sounds like you create your flightplans in FSBuild then import to FSN just to use the moving map. So, you don't create f/p's in FSN? What's the advantage of FSBuild over FSN for creating f/p's?Thanks,Peter
March 10, 200422 yr I'm a FSBuild user and I love the program, but I thought I'd offer an alternative solution.AVSIM has a Flight Planning forum that provides all types of flight plans. Make a request if you don't see any Boston plans already posted in the archives. It won't be long before someone will post real world plans to meet your request. I've seen some very specific requests get answered, right down to a specific airline, aircraft type and city.Bruce
June 17, 200421 yr A lot of the Virtual Airline sites also have flight plans for their normal routes published, and these closely match the "real" routes.
June 17, 200421 yr I use this link.http://rfinder.asalink.net/free/fpl-cgi.cgiAfter you enter your Airport of dep.,and your destinatin, it will generate a plan.Example: KBOS dct PVD j55 HTO j174 DIW ar14 METTA ar1 HOBEE star KMIA.OK, their are 21 waypoints along this route. You do NOT have to enter each and every one! The above rout is printed at the bottom of the page, use it.Use plan mode. Enter the routes in the RTE page of the FMC. On the right LSK enter the transition for your SID. Then on the next right LSK enter HTO, on the Left LSK under "VIA" enter j55. Then enter DIW on the right and j174 under "VIA" same line! If you then go to the legs page you will find the FMC entered all the waypoints between PVD,HTO and DIW.Example: HTO,RIFLE,GEDIC,EMJAY,ZIZZI,WARRN,SWL,KALDA,SAWED,ORF,EDDEYS,GILMA,CLAPY, and DIW, etc., are all entered automaticly by the FMC.You also noticed the plan above HOBEE star KMIA. Thats where you need plan mode, get your transition point and star from ATC and enter it into the FMC using ARR/DEP page, beware tho in plan mode and the legs page you will most likliy see a discontinuity. Resolve it.I'v found this to be the best way (for me at least) to enter a flight plan. It saves a hell of a lot of waypoint entering. The FMC inserts all of them along a jet (jXXX)route or ARxxx route. When in plan mode you can see your route or any section of it by turning your LEGS pages, and you can visually see any gaps (disco's) along the route. Generally the only disco's are generated at the beginning and the end of the route for obvious reasons.RegardsBuck Bolduc
